The Many Sounds of Jerry Lee was a four-episode series of TV specials that were filmed at the Memphis, Tennessee Holiday Inn in late September, 1969. They featured Jerry Lee Lewis performing country music, rock 'n' roll, gospel, standards, soul, and rhythm & blues. His sister Linda Gail Lewis was heavily featured, as were vocal groups the Finishing Touch and the Rust College Quintet.

Absolutely delighted this has been uploaded. The Killer = the Greatest live Show on Earth. It is great to watch a genius at work. The greatest rock and roll and country artist of all time. Many country fans do not accept Jerry as the genuine item. Well suck it up. Just because he does not sing with a nasal twang in his voice does not mean he cannot sing a country song. Instead his ice cold vocals add class to any thing he sings. Always in key with superb phrasing. These Vids show Jerry at the top of his game and are the perfect balance to his manic performances on Granada TV. .

In this order, the "Kings of "Rock 'n' Roll": 1st.: ELVIS PRESLEY / 2nd.: CHUCK BERRY / 3rd.: JERRY LEE LEWIS / 4th.: CARL PERKINS / 5th.: LITTLE RICHARD. Little Richard lost points when, in early 1957, after only 1 year and a half recording blues, rhythm & blues, blues and rock 'n' roll, left to record only gospel songs, saying that "Rock 'n' Roll was devil's music"...

can some nerd help me with who is in the band? kenny lovelace on guitar and fiddle, rhodes chalmers rhodes on vocals, could that possibly be joe south on rhythm guitar? (probably not). the pedal steel player is ned davis... great band...

Morris Tarrant on drums, Eddie deBruhl bass, Ned Davis, guitar; Bill Strom on organ - the original Memphis Beats...

@@markusr7421 Very wrong! Only one drummer had this typical style. It's Russell Smith. He was Jerry Lee's drummer from 1957 to 1959. In 1969 they toured together again. He can also be seen in 1969 Ed Sullivan show with Jerry Lee ofcourse. He played even on some recordings instead of J.M. van Eaton. Also Russ was drummer for Sonny Burgess in 1956 only. Then after he stayed only with Jerry Lee. Unfortunately Russ passed away in 2002 due to some very serious health problems. His date of birth is unknown... It's a mystery that Russell Smith almost CAN'T be found on web. I've tried that many times to find some more info about him, but failed.
