This looks great!! How do we modify to make a smaller bag?? Will this bag be stretchy when it gets done?

You can modify it to be smaller by doing less stitches and rows in the beginning and then less stitches and rows for the main body. It has a slight stretch to it, but I've found it holds its shape really well for a crochet bag.

Love the bag and detailed tutorial, I’m wondering if I wanted to modify and make this pattern smaller, what the numbers be. So if it’s 46 chains, make it 23, then instead of working 9 rows up make it 5?? I’m not sure what will work? Or smaller hook like a 4.5mm? Thank you

Love the bag and so excited to start! Is there a reason you used the 6mm hook? the yarn recommendation is 6.5 but I'm wondering whether you used 6 to make sure its tight or for any other reason?

I tend to crochet loosely so I use a slightly smaller hook that what the yarn recommends. For this tote I also wanted to make sure the bag was extra sturdy and wouldn't stretch too much so using a smaller hook helped that. Make sure to check your gauge first and compare it to mine to decide if you need to go up or down a hook size to get the same effect.

Amazing Bag and thank you for sharing! can you please let us know if the handles stretch? will they stretch a lot if weight is put in? i.e. if someone uses it as a beach bag and puts towels, etc? thank you

I found that mine stays pretty sturdy. It has a tiny bit of stretch but not enough to distort the overall shape. Hope that helps!

Thank you. I think it depends on how you count the rows. I was taught that you count the row you would normally work into as row 1.

It does eat up quite a bit, but the Rewind comes in larger skeins which helps.
