This is by far the best of them that I know of. Everything is just right. Slow and soft when it needs to feel that way, fast and loud when necessary, just right. The song on the album works, but this here doesn’t remotely seem as long as it is, and is just long enough to work so fucking completely. I have not been here once a week since I discovered it, but am working on being a better person, perhaps, if I am remotely successful in that endeavor, I may see you here weekly.

I wonder that too. The Malkin Jewel was one of the better tracks from Noctorniquet for me but I love this live version more. Their cover of Broken English is pretty solid too, I do find it strange they don't acknowledge the fact that more than half this video is a cover but whatever.

I know he cancelled January 2008 in Columbus, then he cancelled the makeup gig on April 19, 2008 in Columbus (luckily I saw the St. Louis show the night before and it was mindblowing, best I've ever seen them.). When they finally made up the Columbus gig in September 2008 (opening the tour there so there would be no chance of his voice going out), it was a decent gig, but not stellar.

This is awesome! I saw them do this live in Buffalo around this time when they were doing 'secret TMV shows' (it was marketed as just an omar solo show). I remember seeing their whole show of Noctourniquet stuff and just being utterly confused (they didn't do any older TMV stuff, so the new songs just kind of blended together as one, they did all of these long jams). Having the context, I'd love to go back and see that show again!

I’ve been a fan since 2005 and honestly when I listened to their Albums against recently I realize noctourniquet is mb my #3 album of theirs after Frances and deloused. Very few people love it though and I didn’t give it much of a chance at the time too . And I think tmv agrees because at their recent show they pretty much played Frances deloused and noctourniquet the most .

Then he cancelled Fall 2009 in Cincinnati. And in April of 2011 on the Omar gig, Cedric dropped off the tour for the last 2 or 3 shows. The first show he skipped was Newport, KY, which is pretty much Cincinnati. So I count 4 missed shows in Ohio area. So Cedric hates Ohio. It's a fact.

Coupling this era the current (2022-) iteration... its clear that despite the condensed nature of the last 2 Volta albums, dramatically expanded compositions will always be a part of the band's ethos in live performance. Hence this 15+ minute version of an otherwise 4½ minute song... and current live performances since 2022 also feature 20+ minute renditions of songs.
