This is by far the best Sci-fi space film that i watch in 2010s. Matt Damon's incredible performance, the striking visual imagery and the whole story behind it. I pretty much give this movie an A+. I already had this film in my Blu-Ray DVD. Thanks Mr. Damon for giving a great performance in this and also for Ridley Scott for masterfully directed this. 👍👍👍👍

Just saw this movie agn for 4-5th time a cpl wks ago. Nearly 6 yrs later & it (easily!) remains in my "Top 5" list of most Favorite/Best Movies of all time. Absolutely stellar (pun!) performances by entire cast; literally everyone who makes even a brief appearance, much less the key characters, & Matt Damon's outstanding performance every moment of film. LOVE the 100% believability of this extraordinary 📽 from start to finish; by far the most intelligent & realistic "outer space" film ever made and likely ever *will be* made. From the fabulous special FX & top notch CG to the factual, science-based designs & script, it's clear Ridley Scott employed & fully utilized NASA scientists & engineers extensively to create this masterpiece of intelligent, plausible, mega-suspenseful (like total nail-biting!) filmmaking, not to mention how incredibly inspirational, heartwarming & all around brilliant it is. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐¹⁰ rating!! Really like the "vibe" of this film. For a Ridley Scott film it's surprisingly good natured and funny. Matt Damon really finds his " inner nerd" and is so engaging. The fact that the film portrayed all the NASA people as competent was a nice touch. Most films would have made the final rescue turn into a botched " pull out the stops" set piece. Instead it just shows how smart, competent, and ballsy professionals can be actually that! I also liked the fact they played down the "pretend we're on Mars" stuff and just let us accept that it's just a story about a man stranded in a harsh environment. It's not Citizen Kane but still a solid film and Ridley's best in years.

wonderfully adapted. i highly recommend reading the book as well, as it shows marks pottymouth and the beautifully described scenes of catastrophic failure (and isnt confined by a time limit!), but the movie is still *absolutely* fantastic--leagues better than most other scifi.
