I'm crying as I write this. I'm a 69 year old combat disabled Marine having been disabled 50 years ago. As I get older it gets harder. Recently I found your song, The Promise, that you performed with he Gathers. When I'm having a bad day and things seem impossible, I play it, over and over. I cry the whole time. Then, I have the understanding and strength to go on. My faith is unshakable but when one sits alone, in pain, full of regrets, this song, and specifically your performance, gives me the renewed strength I need. I've listened to this about 15 times today. Thank you, all three of you, so very much. May God bless your lives and sustain your ministry as long as it serves His needs. I pray you see this with the hopes it blesses your hearts and lives as you and it have blessed mine.

I recently lost my darling first love to cancer. He served as a Senior Crown Prosecutor in the UK for over 25 years and returned to his homeland and served as special prosecutor in the highest court in the land, Court of Appeal, serving as a voice for the voiceless. But more than this, he served His Lord by the life he lived, the witness he shared with his colleagues and clients. He loved his children, his wife and his Lord. I found this song when I was going through a very hard time when everything was just going wrong. I was crying out my heart to my Father asking him to just let me know he was still there with me. And it was like he spoke to me in my spirit and said "My child I am here and here are my promises that I intend to keep. I know what you're going through , I've been there and understand. I'm here my child just hang on." And this song popped up and it was like my Father was saying "Here my child, be still and know I am GOD. " And I listened to it and I felt his presence so strong around me , I was frustrated over my health insurance the dental part and I just needed my Father to remind me that he was still there and was hearing my heartbreaking cries. And let me tell you something he was there with me holding me and lifting me up through this song it blessed me so much. And again tonight August 15th 2024 he's again blessing me with this song. He has never failed me not one time have I called on his name has he ever failed to come through some way some how, he has been my strength through so much stuff and held me while I cried my heart out to him in prayer. He has been the only one who has stood beside me when it seemed all hell was breaking loose, never once has he ever failed me. My Heavenly Father has been there every time I called upon him in the night and day, or was facing something that just had me wondering , HE WAS THERE RIGHT ON TIME, PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! I'm a Christian, a former US Marine, and ride with Bikers For Christ, Indiana. I recently moved from Indiana to Mykolaiv, Ukraine. I'm serving with a church here to feed people in our city and surrounding villages. We bring food and medical supplies to our soldiers. We have not had water for over 2 weeks, we get hit with rockets, cruise missiles, and cluster bombs. 70% of our church members before the war have evacuated. The remanent 30% that remain are sold out for the purposes of God and selflessly serve the Living God in love empowered by the Holy Spirit. They trust God daily for provisions and protection. Most can not work or earn money because the city is shut down. Staying and serving the city is a very selfless act of faith and trust. Know that there are hundreds of God's children doing His work here in Ukraine. Some have been killed on supply runs or rescues. One volunteer was arrested, several thousand dollars of supplies and medicine taken and put in a dark cell for 6 days, being questioned about Pastors, Christians, and Americans, because they want to kill them. Thank you for your prayers for Ukraine, ministries, volunteers, and our soldiers. I appreciate this wonderful song on the cost of discipleship, His promises, and the glory of God. I lost my job today. I broadcast a gospel program called God's Word every Thursday for one hour. Yesterday I told the radio station manager I will not be playing paid for adds during my program. I am dedicating it to God. Today the station manager told me I had to because he is the station manager. I said no and that he would have to sack me. He did. The radio is on air for 168 hours per week and I asked for just one hour for God. Is this just another form of persecution of Christians? Every week I discussed a topic between Genesis to John and the book of Revelation, every week. I refuse to commercialise my program, God's words. God bless

It's beyond amazing that we've got Jesus Christ as our Savior who has never broken a promise and yet we cannot keep every promise we've made with our Lord and Savior if we did we'd never had to make that many promises we're not worthy but he loves us so much to die for us I know that I've never felt like I belonged anywhere I was given drugs on my 12th birthday and I'm 37 years old today and I'm almost 3 years clean and now God has made me a pastor who preaches the kjv and hell hot and heaven sweet God can use the worst of us for his kingdom and put us where we'd never ever thought we'd be just trust him and remember that if your prayer isn't answered immediately don't stop praying it's in his time not ours God bless this song and praise God for Jesus Christ

Hi! You were awful young for that to happen. I hope you have fully recovered. I had a hemorrhagic stroke 12 years ago. When I hear this song, I can't help but remember ALL of times He has been with me. The stroke history is another example of proof. The doctors advised that my family be called in since the doctors did not know if the bleeding would stop on its own. Surgery could not be done. It was too deep in my brain. ( I did not know this at the time.) I was at peace & aware of everything. God stopped the bleeding & I am here today to thank Him & share my story! God does keep His promises!

Thanks for sharing. Can relate as evidenced by the following sentences delineating how we use music to deal with pain and stir up faith. The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.

My mama used to sing this to me when I was little. I have this vivid memory: I was 3 or 4 years old and mama was helping me take a bath and she was singing this to me. Any time this comes on the radio she looks at me and smiles. I love my mama❤️

I have always thought that this song was one of those kinds that if there’s someone in the congregation of a revival or something like that, that they couldn’t still be out in the world, because of the way that this song has got a way of telling the truth about being a Christian, and as far as I can tell, whoever it is that wrote this song, they have truly hit the nail on the head with the things that it says to the lost person that might be in the congregation and they have got something that they are dealing with that they don’t think that anyone can help them with!!
