Role Queue: Please, please PLEASE do not incorporate a role queue, NetEase. There are so many more interesting possible team comps when you don't lock the game to 2-2-2. This is especially significant in Rivals because of how varied the different heroes are. As for possible release: I have no inside knowledge but if I had to guess, they'll either jump to full release or else conduct a second, "open" beta probably in November. If they do another beta, then we'll probably see full release happen in March of 2025.

@@Webhead123 I see where you’re coming from! Interesting team comps is my biggest defense against role queue. So I wouldn’t really be mad at no role to be honest and yea I can see a release in March. Definitely think we will get an open beta! (Hope so at least😂)

@@SenseiRocks It makes the game more interesting to me when the players are allowed to explore various team comps. I've seen a lot of 2-2-2 in the alpha and beta, sure, but there were also lots of great teams in a 1-3-2 or even a 2-3-1 when the Strategist player was on top of their game. Hell, I had a great time solo-supporting as Warlock, Snow or Rocket. Totally feasible.

@@Webhead123 just wait till you get what overwatch had called goats... lets see when we get a goat meta if you change your mind.. cause everyone in overwatch hated that meta.. it was the worst meta of all time so bad blizzard cant just nerf every single tank to make people do a different team comp cause then tanks would be useless so making it 2 2 2 was the only viable choice, where they dont need to nerf tanks but they still make it a different meta

@@mokoto47 I was there. I remember Goats. I think it was really only as much of a problem as it was because OW was at the height of its competitive state back then and a lot of people were taking it SUPER seriously. I still had lots of fun in casual play during that time. If nothing else, perhaps Rivals needs to establish very clear lines between "competitive" play and "casual" play, the trap that has continually plagued OW throughout its history. I'll be honest, I don't give two wet dog turds about "competitive" play in video games. I just want to play games to have a good time. If Rivals can offer something to audiences on both sides, maybe that will help them avoid repeating OW's troubled history.

I think there being no role queue genuinely just makes the skill gap even higher. Especially when I was in the top 500 diamond and above. You can't be a one trick. You have to be well rounded in all categories for multiple characters to be good. Diamond plus 2 or 3 dps instalock? Well guess I have to play support or tank this game and not throw. 2 or 3 dps locked and your main tank and main healer got banned for the match? Oh well you have to be good on the other characters as well. It goes for all the other roles as well. Can't instalock or have a magneto scarlet combo on every team once you get high enough

When they optimize the game better, its gonna be so amazing. As far as roles go I think they should have more hybrid characters like Storm who can support and damage. It can be a little dangerous but if they handle it right then people wont feel so bad about unbalanced team comp. I cant wait for them to add Doom and Thanos

i would rather have role preffered, I just think role queue is to restrictive, and if 4 dps is a problem, than I think its more of a character design issue, The mix and match should work and be a viable comp. Since the time to kill is pretty fast, I think 4 dps can work I just think people arent that good yet.

@@8Dk0ng8 I like your perspective a lot! I do think role queue does limit the flexibility a lot. I also think that the “people aren’t that good yet” statement is true as well. I also think another contributing factor to multiple dps’s on the team is people just want to play their favorite characters. Right now they’re x-men, avengers, BP, star lord , etc right now at dps. If (just throwing out names) Wolverine, Deadpool, Gwen, Thanos, Miles Morales, Daredevil, were put in the game as strategists or vanguards (not saying these names make sense at these roles) we would start to see different classes being used more often. So yea I do think it’s a design issue not to mention the dps role has the most characters. Sorry for the long response😂

I’ve lost multiple times with many different team compositions. And I like the fact that I lost that way. Please, no role queue. Let skill expression and team composition free.

If role Que was a thing in your scenario there’d be a high probability little Timmy wouldn’t even get a match because how many people play dps :/ no disrespect to you or anything just wishing you’d look at why role Que has hurt overwatch for instance

I haven’t played overwatch in a while but long queue was definitely a thing and I always had to pick all roles to get in games quicker😂. So that’s actually a really good point actually.

@@SenseiRocks I was fortunate I was a bridg main so I always had short wait times heck I have been looking for a brig or sym based character to play in rivals (fingers crossed about cloak and dagger for a brig based character and I was considering Penni Parker even though I generally don’t go tank)

Role q never hurt ovwrwatch. It helped it a lot. Whats worst is wanting to play dps but you got 4 insta lock dps so you are forced to swap to healer or its a lost. Role q will make it where you wanna play dps? Sure go ahead. Yeah queue times will be longer but does that really hurt the game? Really?

@@mokoto47 yah just hope you get that game? Role Que hurts because sometimes 4 dps can be helpful. It allows teams to be more dynamic then (in overwatches case) 1 tank 2 dps 2 healer

@@shayukitsune8879 you act like its gonna increase the queue time by a lot, it would mainly affect the top 1% players. This is what will happen if there are no role queue... 4-5 dps everygame someone is forced to play a role they dont wanna do.. maybe 10-20 games in a row they were forced to swap because no one else will... also people who are forced to swap will throw. Dps will complain there are no heals but yet wont swap to heals. This is what will happen if role q is a thing people who wanna play support will be able to, people who wanna play tank will be able to, people who play dps will be able to some will have incresed q time because majority of players will wanna play it so you can either wait the q time or flex for a quicker q time but at least there wont be people throwing or no healers in the match

I played like 60 games and I would say that at least 50 matches I had always 2 healers, which is pretty good for no role play

It’s definitely not an issue for everyone (mantis main here, I get to play her a lot😂) But a lot of people have been running into the multiple dps issue so It’s definitely a hard decision for the rivals team. But I honestly think once more characters are added to vanguard and strategist, I think the role queue vs no role queue debate will go away.

Open queue is fine with a small roster. However once you start having upwards of 30ish characters, it becomes significantly easy to find very overpowered combinations as there are more options to run. OW was fine without role queue until GOATS. Brig being added completely destroyed everything. Even of she were to be nerfed to the ground, her very existence would’ve still been the perfect catalyst for GOATS to exist. So either they take every future characters kit into heavy consideration, or they’re gonna have to eventually add role queue, which I’m happy about. As a support main, there’s nothing worse than idiots who refuse to swap to what’s needed. This problem is exacerbated by not restricting roles. The amount of times I played games with 4dps, 1 tank, 1 support is infuriating because a well balanced team of 2-2-2 will almost always be better. I’m hoping role queue gets added otherwise the game will stay “casual” forever.

I think black panther and magic work well as a 4th dps when played similar to a dive tank like venom hulk or thor.

One issue I've noticed in favor of role queue is that some people load into the game slower than others due to their hardware, these people are less likely to pick their desired role. It's like getting autofilled in league every game unless you get a better PC.

Role queue is shitty idea that just doesnt work. long queue times, no freedom no fun. Just let people play whatever they want to play as and if the match gets tough somebody eventually switches. Plus healers are so fun in this game!

I only guess the Wakanda Stage because it got teased a while back and also if you completed the Galacta event in the cbt she mentions Wakanda after getting the Thor skin. BUUT my theory could be wrong and sanctorum could be next!😂

overwatch with no role queu was game of the year, overwatch 2 with role queu is the worst rated game on steam. enough said

Well, you are kinda missing the main reasons Overwatch 2 failed; and Overwatch 1 didn’t; first of all for years OW2 was promoted as only PVE; and then 6v6 change to 5v5 and the PVE just simply went back to PvP; so basically Overwatch 1 was a full product and Overwatch 1 is built around switching characters to adapt to the game; Overwatch 2 is terrible and is Overwatch 1.5 with all the Cool Overwatch 1 lore thrown away
