Maria is wearing the costume of Binary, which was a Carol Danvers incarnation in the X-Men comic series. So yes, it looks like Maria has taken Carol's place in that reality.

Totally agree this is "high middle" in the MCU. A big step up from the first Captain Marvel, some inventive and truly memorable scenes, a weak script but the chemistry goes a long way, and Iman Vellani is on her way to national treasure status. It's much more entertaining than some MCU entries that made a lot more money!

Tbh I’m so glad y’all reacted to this. You guys are so thoughtful with your commentary and y’all pay attention! I really appreciate it. So from what I understand Monica name was supposed to be Photon but it was cut out. Also SI is ridiculously OOC, for a host of reasons. But I think what it is that SI shows a small portion of the skrulls while a good amount of them were on Tarnax. And Kamala has one bangle, and Carol had the other one. Maria in the other universe has both as Binary. Who is the OP. Erosion of Captain Marvel. Enjoy the reactions as usual.

@MACReact, I'm happy you liked it as much as you did. You are in a very small pool of reactors that enjoyed this movie--I enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately, this movie got reviewed bombed like the first movie =/ This movie takes place after Secret Invasion. Nick Fury talked about the treaty we watched in this movie, but for whatever reason, his wife wasn't part of this. The MCU dropped the ball on this part of the story.

I also loved the interplay between the three stars, and the humour of the movie. The main thing that could have been improved was a bit more backstory for the villain, so the stakes could mean a bit more.

Hi guys! Yet another great reaction! I agree with your call on this movie, not a top tier MCU flick, but definitely fun and enjoyable to watch. I wanted to point something out based on something you said at the end of your reaction regarding getting Monica back to our universe. I think one of you said it might be worth it to get Dr. Strange involved, but since we got that end credit scene of Kamala recruiting Kate Bishop for the Young Avengers, why not add America Chavez to the team? Her power is the ability to travel the multiverse, and teaming up with a two-bangle wearing Ms. Marvel might be just what is needed to find Monica and bring her home (if she wants to come home). Also, you’re right that this isn’t the same universe as the Illuminati universe from Dr. Strange, but I think this is the universe that the MCU will use to introduce the MCU X-Men, and I’m here for it! Also, Monica’s mom in that new universe is a superhero named Binary, and she is a Captain Marvel offshoot. Great job once again!

There are two groups of skulls in the universe with one group led by Talos migrated to Earth during the 5 year blip. For the second group of skulls to migrate to this colony led by their emperor. Of course now that their colony it wiped out they all must migrate to Earth and live in new Asgard in secret.

Maria in that other universe is called binary witch in the comics is just a alternate identity of Carol Danvers after she loses her powers and gets new ones but they made that persona a separate person from her here and made it Maria in that universe. And btw that beast is played by the same actor as in the original X-men trilogy Kelsey grammer

I actually love this film I absolutely love how they brought so many comic related ideas. One of my favourite covers was Carol with Rocket and a ton of Flerkin kitties. Also the whole singing planet was one of the more creative things that they did during Kelly Sue DeConnick's run with Captain Marvel. Some people need to stop the click hate stuff on these movies. Not all were good but guess what Thor Dark World and Iron Man 2 were pretty garbage and my least favourite MCU (Eternals were my new least favourite) But most of the newer movies get treated like the Star Wars Prequels.

When you think about it, ppl did the same with phase 1. I remember people talking about how they didn't like Thor or The first avenger. Then when phase 3 was almost wrapped up people were going back and talking about how phase 1 wasn't as bad as they remember. Nowadays I really don't listen to the hate from the fandom since so much of us undeserved imo. I just go see it for myself with an open mind. This movie I actually had a good time with.

I didn't like Ms.Marvel show that much, it's not exactly my type, but Kamala and her family in this movie is hilarious! I love The Marvels relationship. Cool action sequences, silly but not too silly, funny and lots of kittens! One of my favorite MCU movie to watch and laugh along!

Man I LOVE Scott Pilgrim. I was in high school when it came out, and I must've seen it in theaters at least 3 times. If you haven't seen the Scott Pilgrim netflix anime yet, I highly recommend it! I thought it was just going to be a 1 for 1 adaptation of the movie in an anime style, but it's so much more than that. Now on the channel, we typically only react to movies we've never seen before. Unfortunately that rules out Scott Pilgrim, but if we ever do re -watches or something Scott Pilgrim would be near the top of the list! Appreciate the super thanks!

It’s weird bc I like the actors and characters, but this movie is ugly. Has the usual MCU problem of everything being green screened and on a soundstage. It looks cheap. Like on of those old Spykid movies. And the villain was kinda lame. 5/10 forgettable.
