Durch diese junge Band aus dem irischen Dundalk strömt der Geist von The Pogues und The Dubliners. Die wilde anarchische Combo um die beiden Brüder Charles und Andrew Hendy und ihren Freund Sean McKenna gibt Irish Folk mit Vokuhila-Frisuren und Trainingsanzügen die Injektion jugendlichen Irrsinns, die er gebraucht hat.
Die sieben Mitglieder von The Mary Wallopers machen aus jedem Club einen Hexenkessel. Aber anstatt nur aufs Gaspedal zu drücken, traut sich die Band aus Dundalk auch - ganz so wie einst The Pogues - traditionelle Midtempo-Songs und Balladen mit ins Programm zu nehmen. Kein Metal-Einfluss, keine Rock-Gitarren - purer Irish Folk. Aber mit jeder Menge Spaß und ohne sturen Purismus. The Mary Wallopers setzen auf rohe Energie, als würden die Clancy Brothers auf die Sex Pistols treffen.
