The Santa-fication of God is not good for us. There are many instances where God used pain and destruction to renew and bring new life. In some philosophies GOD energy is understood as Generator-Organiser-Destroyer. Relationships are meant to grow us, yes in joy and softness and warmth but sometimes also through pain and discomfort. It’s also important to know the difference between pain and discomfort.

Peace & clarity are only achieved after overcoming the chaos & confusion. Your statement implies that you hold the belief that all chaos & confusion is "bad/negative", & is a perfect example of a self-limiting belief & lack of clarity. The Christian God, as told in the Holy Bible, had a son born of a human woman. Did Jesus know a life of peace & clarity, especially given that he was His only begotten son? Did Jesus choose to only associate with those who were held in high regard or esteem by others, while disregarding those who were declared unworthy by their respective communities/societies? Do the terms "trials & tribulations" or "crucible" sound synonymous with anything, any stories, any reoccurring themes within that Holy Bible? I'm sincerely asking, not being a sarcastic a-hole just looking to put you down. We all grossly underestimate our own understanding & comprehension of subjects that are deeply complex & nuanced.
