I may be a bit biased but I consider him the most talented out of boy bands from the 90s next to Justin Timberlake. There are just so many layers and so much depth to his voice and he uses it so effortlessly. At times it sounds so tender and angelic, and other times hard hitting like a bullet. Very very few artists have a voice and can sing like that. For most singers, even having a wide range, the voice would sound stale throughout the whole song, or let’s say when they switch to falsetto the switch would be like a “jump”-very obvious, not being able to switch between different voices and yet completely connected and wholesome like JM can.

I say any time he says heart or a heart is present is a reference. The dancers from higher love, the heart on Mrs.S's desk, experience in heart break and any more heart references i missed. Also the chess board could reference Roxas with his casual design and the checker board style he has on his outfit (and the checkerboard wristband Roxas and Ventus have). But thats stretching it a bit.
