My Grandfather was a freemason. I grew up around the lodge. I was in "pledge girls" as a young child. I learned basic skills like how to listen, memorize, keep notes, make decisions, set goals, and speak publicly. We participated in fund raisers and rode a float in an annual parade. The men had fund raisers, donated to the children's hospital, organized small public works and supported each other in times of need. Men of different religious affilations existed together. It seemed to be a men's club centered around self improvement, charity, and belief in a higher power. Any group can involve themseves in naughty schemes, and every group appreciates a measure of privacy. There's an A-hole around every corner. Many people would find freemasonry boring. My grandfather was well regarded, but not a rich or powerful man. He was quiet, mindful, and responsible. Both the masons and the conspiracy theorists can recognize that to make something special you just have to believe it is special. The truly sinister activities appear to be happening in plain sight.

Very good video! Just a quick correction the Scottish Rite or the York rights are not appendant bodies. They are full Rites on their own, they must be called either Rites or sometime concordant body but never appendant. The difference is that an appendant body does not contain Craft (Blue) degrees within its system for instance The Grotto, Shriner, Eastern Stars do not contain the first three degrees within their systems and thus are appendant. The York and Scottish Rite both contain the first three degrees within their systems whether they are utilized or not within your jurisdiction and thus are concordant bodies or just Rites. Also another small mistake that a lot of people make about the Scottish Rite is to call the first three degrees (Red Lodge). In all rites the frist three are Blue degrees or blue Lodge. However, I quote directly from the Scottish Rite’s website to show that it is an Appendant Body. “There is an unsanctioned tradition in some Blue Lodges of telling new Master Masons that they must preside as master of their lodge before petitioning “high-degree” Masonry of any kind. It's actually quite interesting- you reference the internet age and KZbin as the reason for these conspiracies existing, and while it's certainly contributed to their popularity and brought plenty of misinformation into the circle, there have been many books released far before this recent trend in bullshit internet videos about the illuminati or freemasons. I'm not even here to say they are evil. I think one would have to be a fool to believe they all are. Perhaps a better comparison would be the police... We KNOW not all cops are bad, no matter how much we may wish to delude ourselves. However, we also KNOW there is a lot of corruption in our judicial and legal system that leaks all the way down to the police and can have varying effects. I think the same thing could be said for masons. If you just go read Morals and Dogma by Albert Pike, a 33rd degree mason, he writes in great detail how many blue lodge members of masonry will never come to see the true purpose in the craft. How many of them are completely removed from the true rite and depth of symbolism in the craft. To say there is NO evidence for ANY conspiracy stands on a false sense of confidence.
