Hi John, I have found that the skymaster cockpit material is very similar to rc car bodies. I use 2 methods that don’t damage it. 1, Rc car scissors, that are bent and don’t place side forces when cutting. 2, scribe the part/area you want to remove with a sharply but without cutting all the way through, then bend the piece with your fingers and it should snap off cleanly.

Thanks Pavlos. I have not tried the RC Car body scissors but I'm sure they would work great. I'm always scared to try any other methods as they are so brittle.

Tip time :-) You can turn around the wire in the rudder hinge. Push it in from the bottom. Looks better and it won't go anywhere...

Like the outtakes, one huge aircraft with a spinner adds 5" to the length. Lol

something to consider to prevent flutter is to ad positive mechanical advantage on the servo/control horn. The as well as most end up negative which doesnt help at all, just a thought. I almost lost an Avanti XXL because of this.

Excellent as always, thinking perhaps the cutting of the cockpit without damaging it should have been a trusty bend screw driver tip of the day 😂

But can you build a YRF-4E, Airforce museums lost the original ...it's one of a kind RF-4B With canards ... pretty but so far has eluded builders. ...unless you count a 1/32 version built by a crazy guy in Ohio.

Looking good mate, that cockpit looks like it needed alot of patience , great job. On the clevis's, do you put a spot of glue, as you don't have nuts to lock any movement of the rods, just curious 🤔 cheers

Hello Kim. Yea it was a challenge but actually worked out very well. I like having it in the canopy like that. One less thing to remove when accessing the inner workings.. Yes absolutley! I will sometimes use loctite but in the case on this PC this CA does a great job.

Did you have that plane custom painted with that scheme or is it one of their standard schemes?
@thelightersideofrc2 жыл бұрын
Hello Kevin. It was a custom scheme from skymaster but anyone can order it.
