من قالَ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ أَوْ حِينَ يُمْسِي اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ بِنِعْمَتِكَ وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي إِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ ‏.‏ فَمَاتَ مِنْ يَوْمِهِ أَوْ مِنْ لَيْلَتِهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone says in the morning or in the evening: "O Allah! Thou art my Lord; there is no god but Thee, Thou hast created me, and I am Thy servant and hold to Thy covenant and promise as much as I can; I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of what I have done: I acknowledge Thy favour to me, and I acknowledge my sin; pardon me, for none but Thee pardons sins, and dies during the daytime or during the night." he will go to Paradise. 1st DU’AA Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (May Allaah be pleased with him) reported: I requested the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to teach me a supplication which I could recite in my Salat (prayer). Thereupon he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Recite: ‘Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran, wa la yaghfirudh- dhunuba illa Anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min ‘indika, warhamni, innaka Antal-Ghafur-ur-Rahim’ [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] FULL DU’AA IN ARABIC TEXT: اللهم إني ظلمت نفسي ظلمًا كثيرًا، ولا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت، فاغفر لي مغفرة من عندك، وارحمني، إنك أنت الغفور الرحيم TRANSLATION IN ENGLISH O Allaah! I have considerably wronged myself. There is none to forgive the sins but You. So grant me pardon and have mercy on me. You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Compassionate. 2nd DU’AA Ibn Mas’ood (May Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “He who says: ‘Astaghfir ullah-alladhi la ilaha illa Huwal-Haiyul-Qayyumu, wa atubu ilaihi أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِي لا إلَهَ إلا هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيُومُ وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ ‘I seek the forgiveness of Allaah, there is no true god except Allaah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance’ his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield (while he was engaged in fighting for the Cause of Allaah).” [Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi and Al-Hakim] 3rd DU’AA SAYYID ISTIGHFAAR The Prophet peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said; “The most superior du’aa for forgiveness is to say: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ[1 ‘Allaahumma anta rabbee laa elaaha illaa anta khalaqtanee wa ana ‘abduka wa ana ‘alaa ‘ahdika wa wa’dika mastata’t. Did bismillahirahumaniraheem is said on every dua. Either on personal dua or in a Majlis?? 2. Can we do Sayyidina Isthighfar in the Sujud of obligatory prayers and voluntary prayers as well? 1. No need to recite Bismillaah before every du’aa - (to answer your question) In Islaam it is Best for us that we always read Bismillaah before we start to do anything - good intention and in shaa Allaah we get blessings in our deeds. 2.

May be wrong, I read the hadith (Narrated by Muslim, al-Fadaa’il, 4223) says Abu Hurayrah, (R.A) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘I will be the leader (Sayyid - سَيِّدُ) of the sons of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, and the first one for whom the grave will be opened, and the first to intercede, and the first whose intercession will be accepted.’” Its always better to use captions carefully so as not to confuse the masses. However thanks to Epic team they did clarify a bit by insert "(pubh)" but I still didn't get clarity on the word in this hadith that Sayyid - سَيِّدُ here means Master or Leader. In my limited knowledge, Allah is The Master at all times including before, ON & after The Day of Judgement. And Allah knows best.

You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Compassionate. 2nd DU’AA Ibn Mas’ood (May Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “He who says: ‘Astaghfir ullah-alladhi la ilaha illa Huwal-Haiyul-Qayyumu, wa atubu ilaihi أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِي لا إلَهَ إلا هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيُومُ وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ ‘I seek the forgiveness of Allaah, there is no true god except Allaah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance’ his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield (while he was engaged in fighting for the Cause of Allaah).” [Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi and Al-Hakim] 3rd DU’AA SAYYID ISTIGHFAAR The Prophet peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said; “The most superior du’aa for forgiveness is to say: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ[1 ‘Allaahumma anta rabbee laa elaaha illaa anta khalaqtanee wa ana ‘abduka wa ana ‘alaa ‘ahdika wa wa’dika mastata’t. A’oothu bika min sharri ma sana’t. Aboo’u laka bi ni’matika alayya wa aboo’u laka bi thambee. Faghfir lee. Fa innahoo laa yaghfiruth-thunooba illaa ant.’ O Allaah, You are my Lord. There is no god besides You. You created me and I am Your servant, following your covenant and [my] promise to you as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil that I have done. Before You I acknowledge Your blessings bestowed upon me and I confess my sins to You. So forgive me, for surely no one can forgive sins except You.’ The Prophet peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him then added, ‘anyone who says this during the day, firmly believing in it, and dies before the evening; or says it in the evening, firmly believing in it, and dies before the following morning, will be among the people of paradise.’ [BUKHARI]

Seeking forgiveness from Allah (swt) It helps us to wipe away and refrain from all forms of sins It was said 100 times a day by the Prophet ﷺ. Istighfar (asking forgiveness) removes anxiety and increases the likelihood that a dua will be answered. Opens the door of sustenance. It relieves you. When you feel that sadness within you Daily Istighfar opens the door of mercy and knowledge. Asking for Istighfar is a gateway to productivity It increases the chances of your dua getting accepted.
