Well said....there are some trolls out there who haven't seen the light of day in years and got nothin' better to do than be "haters". Sad. I never had the pleasure of seeing "The Miz" play in person, but I love watching my Accu-Stat videos of him up at the Sands tourny's in Reno. A great talent and lovable personality. RIP, Steve...

The best! I was at St. Ambrose College in 1964 as a freshman and Mizerak was maybe in his third year. My roommate and I used to climb out of our dorm window at night and play pool at Sophie's Half Moon and another pool room down the street from the school. Steve was down there playing all the time. Unbelievable to watch him bang 'em in rack after rack. Most excellent guy. Most excellent memory.

The last trick shot made me smile. I was never a fan of trick shots because they were set up. I was doing those first two he showed back in the 60's. I remember Steve when he went around to the pool rooms in Brooklyn. he was good.....damn good!!!

"When you shoot a lot of pool and balls, You want to stay fast and loose, You don't want to get filled up, that's why I drink Lite Beer from Miller, It's got 30 less calories then their regular beer and it's less filling plus the taste is great and even though a lot of people don't think pool is strange, let me tell you something, You can work up a real thirst Even when you're just showin' off, Announcer: Lite beer from miller, Everything you wanted in a beer and less." I watched steve jr. grow from his teens. One night at Steve seniors pool hall he was playing Frank Paradise in straight pool when Steve jr came in and said I've got the winner. Frank beat Senior, won the break against jr. and broke the balls. Nothing went in. Steve jr. got up ran 125 balls the game was over. Junior was a great billiards and snoocker player also. I watched him run more than 100 points in snoocker a few times.

Do realize that Minnesota Fats in "The Hustler" was a fictional character? Rudolph Wanderone changed his name and billed himself as "Minnesota Fats" after that and made alot of money. But never had the repuation of the character in the movie.

myths about Fats 1.The best player ever, not true of course. 2.That he was a bad player. He was good at 1 pocket, just ask anyone from Johnson City. When he played Mosconi in the 70s, they both played terrible. Fats had suffered his 1st stroke just a year before and Mosconi had'nt hit a ball in 3years.

I know it's the internet and it must be faaaaaabulous to just post something stupid sitting behind your computer. If you don't have anything useful to say, just don't post anything at all. It's disgraceful. Steve Mizerak was a great champion and an even greater person. How anyone can post garbage like you did, just baffles me.
