Hi, great video. What A/B program is that please

I noticed the expectation bias thing a couple of times when I was skimming through presets for a plugin and heard the difference only to realize afterwards that the plugin was not engaged after all. Uups.

As a mastering engineers do you level your headphones to the specific loudness like we can do with speakers (For instance k-system) and what would be the best way to measure the loudness? Thanks
@rost4318 ай бұрын
The loudness is mesured with the dB LUFS of the file. Wich is the ratio between the highest and the lowest signal power. That's what you can see on the top right of the file visualisation in this video.

We don't use the K-system, but there is more to say about monitoring levels. That could be the subject for a future video. 🙂 /Thomas

@@rost431 yes, but I am talking about loudness that comes out of your speakers (headphones in this case). Its easy to measure speakers loudness with loudness meter but with headphones is not so easy.

@@sebastianhanzlik4644 sorry i misanderstand you'r question. I'm not a pro, but i think you have to emulate the ear placement. So, with a mic really near one speaker it can be pretty acurate. I think you also need to switch off the other speaker to avoid any signal problemes.
