I'm just learning transpositions and she says, x divided y? I've been told that two letters together are always multiplied?? Which one is right?

Hi there, I could be wrong but I belive that usually you would be right, two letters together without a symbol are always multiplied, however in the case of rearranging equasions you are trying to get the letters other than the wanted subject to the other side of the equals sign, in order to do this you need to do the oppisite operation on both sides of the equasion so that you can move the non-subject to the other side, e.g. xy = z, if x was the subject then you would need to divide y on both sides of the equasion to make x the subject, i hope this helped you out （＾ν＾）

there are too many variables is your problems please use some number too, but good way of explaining the problems

most of the time when you dive deeper into Subject of the formula they would use variables instead of numbers because of things like physics for example you have to work out the frequency of a wave and they only give u like the velocity and the lamda you would use subject of the formula sometimes. I think i confused you speaking about physics though, but i think you know what i mean.
