Virtual Reality marks the following: 1) The twentieth journey-based expedition event of Homescapes, after Wood Estate Mystery, Halloween Nightmare, Winter Adventure, Mysteries of Atlantis, Lost Island, Mysterious Festival, Tortuga Island, Butler’s Peak, Austin, Magic, and Dragons, Secrets of Area 551, Ice Age, Chocolate Factory, Rescue Chloe, Innesport Mystery, Desert Tales, Once Upon a Time in the Wild West, Circus of Horrors, Way of the Warrior and Snow Queen. 2) The first journey-based expedition event since Once Upon a Time in the Wild West to start at the mansion. 3) The return of Patrick and Lisa after their last appearances in Day 6 of the Movie Set and Day 5 of the Beach House respectively in the Island Hotel. 4) The first journey-based expedition event to not have a map-like transition between the mansion and the expedition itself. 5) The direct sequel to Post Office location redesign (The final location redesign event of Homescapes), as Gloris continues to be a close friend of Lisa from the August 2022 update. 6) The first journey-based expedition event to have a non-physical antagonist.
