I don't know why you would think Luka is going to get better defensively as the season goes on. He obviously didn't get in better shape for this season. People are just blowing by him. and he's literally hust standing around with his arms down. Oh,....and complaining.

Klay didn't replace Jones Jr, he replaced Tim Hardaway Jr... And he's a better defender than Hardaway. When Mavs had Hardaway out there, he was a defensive liability, when Mavs have Klay out there, he is less of a liability. Naji and Grimes are what was supposed to at least kinda fill the void left by DJJ but they haven't

If the rumors are true then apparently Luka has been dealing with some kind of hip or groin injuey for a while going back to the playoffs and its been nagging him. Still not really an excuse. If you can play and shoot 40 times on offense, you can at least be IN THE PLAY on defense and he's just not even trying half the time.

fr. his take on naji was horrible. hes averaging 14 ppg in his last 6 games on like 50% efficiency while also being literally one of the best playmakers on the mavs team. hes also played good defense

Disaster is a little over the top but they are on a two game winning streak beating the Thunder last night . When they went on a 5 game losing streak they lost by 2 in all 5 games . I just think they need to get rid of Kelber and maybe Dinwiddle .

PJ and Naji, what are you talking about? 😂 Thru the first 7 games of the season, the Mavs were 3rd in defense. They are 13th right now. This is how you can quickly tell when someone doesn't know what they are talking about and watching espn or something. The Mavs are struggling on offense. They just lost 4 consecutive games all by one possession and all while shooting over 50%, first team in NBA history to ever have that happen. It's a new set of guys, a new offense scheme and the biggest problem besides Luka playing really bad, nobody can 3s except Klay and Kyrie.

Naji cannot hit a 3 but he is shooting around 60% from 2 in the last four games or so and he averages almost 3 assists per game. It would be great if Naji will figure it out and at least be an average 3pt shooter, but Naji is one of the most impactful mavs players in the recent stretch. The bigger issue for me was that Grimes was underused until like 2 games ago. He is great shooter and defender, he should see more minutes.

you got to understand the mavs style of play they are not a team to blow you out or coast they are a team that holds you close till the 4th with two of the clutchest players in the league to finish it they are more fit for playoffs Hot and cold streaks during the regular season but still can carve out 45-50 games.

Obviously his 3 point % will go up, but here are his numbers in the last 5 games... 28.4 mins per game, 12.4 PPG, shooting about 55% from the floor, 4 rebounds per game, 1.6 assists per game, 1.4 steals per game, and only 2 turnovers per game. He drives to the rim with force/success thereby putting great pressure on the defense. For you to say that he's a liability on offense is downright criminal... and he is an excellent defender. Do you even watch these games? WOW!

Watching these clips and hearing you say they're 3-5 because of their schedule just doesn't match at all. They're just horrible defensively which is why they're so bad right now. Kyrie is the only positive out there, but Luka is a cone and Klay is not the defender he used to be. The amount of blow by's... damn. You can't be letting Colin Sexton blow by you if you're Luka.
