I actually think the movie is a pretty solid adaptation. Yes, it’s not exactly the same as the book, but I think the movie captured most of its essences perfectly. I went into this movie with absolutely no spoilers, everything was being introduced for the first time. The anxiety of being trapped within huge stone walls and sign of hopes here and there worked like magic. I truly hadn't experienced anything like this before, in other movies what they usually do is either they make protagonist overpowered or they create a hopeless and extremely scary environment. This one had everything in a perfect balance. 2/3rd of the movie from the starting to the point where teresa showed up in the box was near to a masterpiece, after that the whole series was literal display of 'ah shit here we go again'. Finding a cure in zombie apocalypse, yeah that's something very new to me 🙄. That being said Minho is my favourite, actually he is the maze runner not thomas.

The movies are an alegory for the mind. Greek hero stories are all talking about this, not to mention other Hollywood movies. Wisdom and understanding. When you come to know new truths, doors wil open. If not, you stay stuck in your old ways and get 'stuck' and get killed. A Griever can "sting", or prick them, which causes extreme pain for up to days or weeks. This is a state of anxiety and/or depression. Also told in the old Testament when 'Egypt' was attacked.
