"The finer thing", i.e. pointing with your finger in the final portion of the Prayer (the sitting part)...could refer to God's Unity. You're pointing with your index finger, raising it up, to indicate إخلاص (sincerity) and توحيد God's Unity and monotheism, as many jurists have pointed out. It could also, as per a sound prophetic report, be a means of repelling Shaytan (the Devil). The Prophet (ﷺ) said words to the effect of: it (the moving of your finger here) is harder upon Satan than iron!

Plus, the scholars of the four legal schools (Abu Hanifah, Malik, Shafi'i, Ahmad) have various -- and they're all valid, though some may be more evidence-based or 'stronger' than others -- opinions on how exactly one should move, or point the index finger in this position. Some say to point with it only once at the time of declaring the Testification of Faith (Shahada). Others say, whenever Allah's Name is mentioned, point upwards with it. Others say, when you're 'supplicating', point with it...

AOA. Why hasnot Abdul Nasir Jangda mentioned that the tashahhud was a dialogue between Allah the Creator and His Prophet (SAW) on the occasion of Mairaj. That would give the wordings a different depth.

Bismillah 26:00 You say when we are praying alone... but we are never alone. Are there not recording angels with us? So to say "We" in the Fatihah is TRUE and correct. It is hard to believe, as you say, at the "climax" (6:00) of the prayer, that is "a dialogue with Allah SWT" (3:00), at that point, we are called upon to say something untrue or incorrect or irrelevant. No it is as you have said both eloquent, concise and ultimately 100% TRUE to say "O Prophet" in the second person". If you don't see the angels they still exist. Do they not? If you do not understand why we say "O Prophet" it does not make it irrelevant. Salaam
