Coincidentally I've only just recognized ping noise from my mechanical keyboard from one specific key a week ago, and I actually hate it so much, then I read that to fix the ping issue you have to essentially tear apart your whole keyboard to lube the spring of that one specific key, and that made me hate it even more lol

As one of those people who spent that time and money putting together my keyboard, that ping makes me want to cry. Half of the appeal of typing on a mechanical is the sound.

My absolute favorite laptop keyboard is actually from an old as dirt Sony Vaio PCG-GR370 from like 2001 or 2002. I got it off ebay for like $75-100 back in 2012 or so when I just wanted something cheap to install linux on for CS projects in college. It just has amazingly snappy switches for whatever reason, it feels like typing on a low profile mechanical keyboard. I've kept that thing around just because I like the keyboard so much.

That darker grey gunmetal color the key deck got from the lights off should be a color choice.

@@Buran01 sucks man. I'm sure too just like GPUs they are getting bought to be resold at a higher price.
@Buran013 жыл бұрын
@@poeticsilence047 I think that is more because they made some screens (like the 4K) in white only and dark grey looks better so the demand is higher. Here also retired the last month the 144 Hz display (which I think was the best combo with the RTX 3070) so they only have now 300 Hz or 4K x 60 Hz. I think that 144 Hz was perfect for the 3070 because it can move modern games over 100 fps but not near 300 (and the 144 Hz is 15% more brigth) and the 4k is lame due the card will struggle with that res and 4k in 15" means tiny fonts. A shame because to me is the best gaming laptop; I'm on the verge to buy but ~2500 € in a model which comes in my not first choice of color feels bad. I understand the sacrifice of AMD CPU due politics, but man, at least give us our desired color, Dell!

I think it adds a little value to the laptop long term maybe. IDK if the ringing would get to me... For me, what angered me the most with my last keyboard, was the CLICK-POP from the actual key bottoming out. I lubed that keyboard and put O-Rings on it. IT WAS AWESOME. Then I gave it away the next day to a friend.

Since you had the laptop, it would be nice if you could talk a little bit more about the rest of the unit. Like, is the screen good, what I/O does it have, how much battery life did you get ? I mean, even if this was the best keyboard ever created, we still would appreciate a minute or two for the rest of the machine. Nice video though :)

Keys today are too flat and slippery, especially gaming machines. I miss the old ones that actually gave you some traction, with a dip/grove in the middle of each key. Like the old 2012 Macbook Pro, which was wonderful. Though, the best one I've tried so far, out of hundreds of keyboards, is my current Lenovo Carbon's.

I'd be very interested to see how the mechanical version compares to the non-mechanical to see if the cost is worth it. Sounds like a comparison video to me! :-) Also, my Cyberpunk numbers aren't that high, but I have RT on Ultra with DLSS set to quality . . .
