The Mediterranean Sky Shipwreck of Elefsina.
The Mediterranean Sky was a Greek ferry that was built in 1953 by Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering in Barrow-in-Furnes, northwest England, as a passenger and cargo ship named City of York, on behalf of the British company Ellerman Wilson Line. The Mediterranean Sky was decommissioned in 1996 and remained anchored in its home port until 1999. From there it was towed to Elefsina Bay, where in 2003 it tilted and sank into the shallows. The wreck is still there today and is a sight to see.
