I remember 1990 like it was yesterday, first playing Mega Man 2 on my cousin Shawn's NES. Everyone at the old mobile home park in Irving (where we used to live back then) seemingly had an NES. It was also the time when Super Mario Bros. 3 came out -- and when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was such a huge part of our lives. I've often found myself looking back to all those years, remembering how healthy and happy everyone was. Shaun is no longer with me -- he passed away in 2017 -- but I often smile and reflect upon the times we spent together, playing Street Fighter II at our local Stop 'N' Go and enjoying the company.

This channel gets me surprisingly emotional. Up until I was 7 my parents were great and owned a business. After I turned 7, they went down the meth rabbit hole really bad, and still are there (I’m 28 now.) Playing PS1 and PS2 were the highlights of my childhood. Seeing these memories of how happy you get, the time period, the games, remind me of a time when innocence was still a part of my life. Makes me sad in the happiest way or happy in the saddest way, I can’t really tell. Thank you for sharing these videos

Mega man 2 was huge for me also. I remember my Mom got it for me from QVC with Rampage. Still remember opening the box taking out mega man 2 and sitting on the floor playing.

Man, you took me by surprise emotionaly😢 and brougth me back my childhood , when i see this little kid playing MM2 in Heat man stage, i realize how much badass the kids were cuz we ain't get no tutorial , internet , shareplay etc.. there were just magazines and the rest were courage to face all the adversities. I'm so proud to get lived those good times . Even though i'm 43 sometimes i do play this game and listen some brilhants songs from this fantatastic franchise.❤ One more subscriber.... way to go !

Your naration is just amazing. I like how you described flashmans ability and the fact that heatmans stage was burned into your brain. Sometimes I wonder why your dad didn't record you getting all the other Mega Man games. You showed you had them all. But I can only guess that while you did like the series you just never got hyped in the same way as you did with Mega Man 2. Still glad that he recorded you getting Mega Man Wily Wars.

I love this. What a great memory that genuine happiness is awesome. I still remember trying Mega Man 2 for the first time at my buddies house. The music was so good and he was playing in Dr Wilys castle against the Dragon. I’ll never forget that. ❤

Is it safe to say you don't actually remember all this at the age of 4? :) I don't remember things honestly till i was about 6+? Still i love the old videos though, this game was so good. Im a bit older than you, i was i think 13 when this came out for me, and boy oh boy did i play the hell out of it (as well as the following Mega Man games on the NES). I mean this in a good way btw, but you were INCREDIBLY SPOILED GROWING UP LOLOL. 💗 Your parents were, and are absolutely amazing! You were and are truly, TRULY blessed!

OMFG AT 1:13 HE SOUNDS and said what exactly my father said to me, we had gotten a nintendo and two games kung fu and ninja turtles 3 the mahattan project for christmas during christmas vacation which was 13 days off of school, on dec 24, 1996 , he gave us the present me and my younger brother were so excited. We woke up 8 in the morning the first thing we did was turn on the nes. And he said you wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is walk up and turn on the nintendo.

Funny, id have thrown megaman out and ran away with the iron swords 2. Mega man just isnt for me, but its super cool seeing this. I had moments like this like when my dad came home for a 14 hour shift with mortal kombat for genesis. The biggest one was my mom giving me a ps2 randomly, i wish they recorded it because i lost my damn mind

I absolutely LOVE all of your vids. you and the angry video game nerd (avgn) are my two fav video game channels to watch. and I really, really like how you put vcr clips from your childhood in these vids. VERY reminiscent. and back in the day, I beat mm2 with one life

Wow....I was in the 6th grade and probably playing alot of Super Mario 2 or 3, Q-bert and Bad News baseball because that was all I had until I got a SNES..LOL. And those were all hand me down games from friends and cousins. We were Po'! Those were the days though I was 11 years old in 1990 and remember the days of exchanging games with friends so you could play games they had and vise versa, until renting games became popular.

im curious what genz kids think when they see these 80s vids if they wish things were like this today or better how it is now, both have pros and cons and we do get blinded by nostalgia of 80s but many times we were bored out of our minds very often. i couldnt imagine growing up today with endless distractions yet i wouldnt trade growing up in 80s for that at all, I'm 1982 born.

I was absolutely obsessed with this game. I remember the day I got it. My mom took a buddy and I to Toys "R" Us to mess around a bit and my mom finally bought be Megaman 2 which I had been going on about for months. We came home and played it all afternoon and it was just great! Later that evening, Dad came home from work and we had Pizza Hut for dinner. Afterwards, we went to go see the first live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! This was just about the greatest day of my life...until it wasn't. A little before leaving for the movie, I started to have a stomach ache. By the middle of the film, I was burning up with a stomach virus which would be the precursor to the sickest week of my entire f**king life. I got to stay home that week with Megaman 2 to play which was great but it wasn't worth the ridiculous amount of pain to possess such a trifling boon. Anyway, that's my Megaman 2 story. I hope you enjoyed reading it more than I enjoyed living it. 🥵🥶🤢🤮🤧
