So pretty! I haven't had much luck with painting micas, but you've inspired me to try again in the future

How long will the mica stay on the soap. When I paint my soaps, the color comes off after a couple of washes.

This mica is set under a layer of clear so it lasts until the very end. This bar is featured in my “What my soap looks like when you use it” video. You can see how it looks when it’s nearly used up -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYPRfnWKnM6deZosi=88POchMeMfZJTh64

Hi! Beautiful and original project, thank you for this great idea! Just a comment about not spreading alcohol to the mica which sounds accurate but in my experience, the layers don’t stay together since alcohol works like a glue…

Hi Carmen, thanks again for your kind words ❤. Yes adhering layers in melt and pour soap-making can be tricky, but it is a common myth that it cannot be done without alcohol. This soap features in one of my later videos where I discuss what my soaps look like when you use them --> kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYPRfnWKnM6deZosi=Q_yXTMoSVcfh7UjE&t=290 As you can see there is no evidence of the layers of this soap separating right up to the last remaining sliver. I have several projects on my channel where I recommend not using alcohol between layers (for various reasons) and people do often question this, but in my experience, there are a few different reasons why soap layers may separate, and temperature plays a more important role in layer adhesion than alcohol. Thanks again for chatting with me 😊

Thank you for prompt and very clear explanation, I’ve seen the video and all soaps are not separated even if you didn’t use alcohol. What I understand is that it has to be with temperature, can you be so kind and tell me how many degrees must this be to have that perfect result? Thanks and will try to do all of the beautiful soaps that appear in the video, you are very original in your soap art 🙏👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@@CarmenRodriguez-rj6my the ideal temperature will vary depending on the soap base so it is hard to give an actual number. I usually pour as soon as the soap is melted without delay.
