Since both Don Manley and Tim Moorey have retired from the Mephisto rota, this puzzle is from a while back. The new setters, John Grimshaw and Robert Teuton, have taken things to a new level. As it was, I found this one was pretty tough when I solved it. You can often find a few easy clues to get started in a Mephisto, but finishing them can be difficult. I don't remember much, but looking at my comments in George's blog I see I had the knowledge to get a few tough ones quickly. Ossa was brilliant.
