The Merida eONE-SIXTY Is The Best eBike We Have Ever Ridden!

It's interesting how well everyone speaks of these bikes but how little information or reviews are really out there. I ended up buying the e160 700, as my first MTB as someone getting into it in my late 30s and not sure if I really wanted to push my budget even further (even the going rate of the 700 was something I wasnt sure I wanted to spend). Now, I've spent enough on it to have justified going the 9k or even near the 10k with Fox Factory 38 and an X2 shock (170mm on the fork), carbon WeAreOne Union wheels and various bits with the cockpit, grips etc and everytime I get on it, I have an absolute blast. I've ridden a few other bikes and while I am obviously biased with being used to my bike there's something about the fit in it and the way it feels that is really secure but agile and fun.

To be honest, you can't really go wrong with any of the e160 range. Ultimately, the geometry is the same across the range and you can always upgrade components later, like you have done. Sounds like you have added some seriously nice mods to the bike. I bet she rides like a dream. Enjoy. Jason

It's annoying that your video pops-up on every freakn search result of Merida bikes. Yet many videos by those that actually own a Merida Bike, are hidden from search, and can only be discovered if the Channel's title is known. Thanks KZbin. Thanks for nothing.

Wez... a ja tu mysle kupic eone-sixty 500 do miasta do codziennej jazdy kupic, slabo sie kreci ta mala korba na plaskim?

@@mariopan4620 dobrze się kręci do miasta też się nada, natomiast tylko do blokowanej prędkości 25km/h, jechać szybciej po prostym na nim się nie da (gdzie zwykłym hatdtrailem 35km/h) zrobisz bez porównywalnego zmęczenia 2. Cena ja moją e one sixty 8000 kupiłem używaną 2 letnią za połowę obecnej ceny W 2021 kosztowała 23 tysiące obecnie 33 tysiące ja dałem 17.500 zł z przebiegiem 4200 km zdecydowanie lepiej kupić wyższy model a używany (nawet do miasta)

Are you going to review the 2023 eone sixty 500 ? It looks like everyone reviewing emtbs skips it for the higher grade bikes.

This . . . 1000% this. I think they get sent the top of the range bikes to test so that normal human beings making normal money will never be able to afford them or get a realistic impression of what the lower spec versions are like. Complete waste of time.

Thanks for your comment and taking the time to watch the video. I understand yours (and others) frustration that it is often the higher specification eMTBs that are reviewed. A key reason for this is that the manufacturers tend only to supply demo bikes of higher specs to us as reviewers, it is not as easy for us to get hold of mid and lower spec bikes. Plus unfortunately, we don't have the time and resources to review each bike from the range. However, we do appreciate the feed back and we will try and include more of these spec bikes in future reviews. However, I have ridden the e160 500 and I can tell you that, although it is not quite as good as the 9000, it is still an excellent bike to ride. Ultimately, its the underlying frame, motor and geometry that most influences the bike's characteristics and this is the same across the range (albeit some are carbon some alloy). For most riders the extra spec that comes with the higher range bikes isn't necessary for the riding that they do, and is more of a "nice to have" rather than a necessity. Jason

Agreed. Not enough ebikes are spec'd with this drivetrain. Hopefully, we will see more in the future.
