The Mess at Manipal University | Manipal Institute of Technology | MissSuRoy

Manipal University has quite good food for a university serving approx 29,000 students daily. This review is based on MIT food court 1 and Aradhana mess.
These are my personal views and can differ from person to person. I find the food quite good as compared to what I have heard about other messes across the country.

yes, i don't think you'll have any time to work. the coursework will keep you occupied. Hostel and Rental apartment both have their own pros and cons. Hostel was a better option for me, so i stuck to hostel

Hi actually I am going to join manipal university jaipur from next month, and I want to ask you about the seniors, as you are one of the senior, can you share something about seniors at manipal university. Is their ragging or bullying happens at manipal university? And are girls there usually very rude towards the juniors or pass degrading comments? I have heard all of these things from quora, are these things true? I am kind of scared of these things😶

Ahhh no. NOT AT ALL. I am a masters student. Me and my classmates had a lot of juniors as friends. It completely depends on the company you keep. There is a little light ragging in the boy hostels, usually the new comers introduction/Talent contest (its what the boys call it). Not going to say everything is a lie, but a every university has its Pros and Cons. Yes, Manipal does house a fair about rude brat, kids with attitude problems but so do other places. I don't really get it when people say that the food gets repetitive. I mean there's a different menu on all 7 days with some items(2-3) being common in those menus. Tbh that's fair enough...It's just like while you're at home. Food quality is generally good though I do agree some days are just about par. The biggest advantage though is the cost and the variety you get for that cost. Staying outside and paying 4-5k per month for mess which just gives you about 3-4 dishes is way below par when you compare to Mess. I've been there for 4 years and your video brought back sweet memories! Waking up late for 8am classes, rushing into FC to grab a few slices of Bread and Jam and having those on the way to class so that you don't miss attendance....Phew! The things we did xD Hopefully, the campus reopens soon enough!

The decision depends on the government and district authorities. Karnataka is planning to resume offline hybrid classes in august though, with vaccinated students and staff

So overall the mess is decent And they take 44k around for the entire year for the mess right so what exactly u meant by 190-195 per day for the mess? We can pay that fee for the full year and don't need to pay anything else for the rest of the year right excluding extra

46k is the prepaid amount, and mess charges are deducted daily whether you eat or not. So you end up getting charged monthly. For anything you eat besides the meal plan, you pay extra with the card or cash. if your total for the year exceeds 46K you have to pay extra to cover those charges.
