Theory that’s a Sea of Stars spoiler: We all know the whole Dweller of Strife = Demon King thing. But I’ve got a different theory. Romaya is Ruxxtin’s staff. I have no proof apart from same motif, same boss theme, and Romaya was experimenting with Moraine’s staff at the end of Sea of Stars.

I was thinking Romaya had ties to Ruxxtin, but I thought it was more that she was his ancestor, and that Ruxxtin's whole desire to be evil was because he wanted to continue the family trade. Also the World Eater you kill at the end of SoS is the abomination you have to run from in the corrupted future.

It;s hard to beleive that the Ninja managed to kill the Dweller of Strife, it's funny because he's basically stronger than 20 solstice warriors

It was not the real Dweller of Strife, it was just a weak copy. Not just a weak copy, a copy so weak it died to regular sunlight, when the original could tank pretty strong Eclipse Magic only receiving 10s and 7s of damage

@@pixelate4131 the fleshmancer said that he going to fuse the 4 acolytes into the Dweller, so I think that this is actually the stronger version of the Dweller, maybe it died to sunlight is because the Ninja already beaten it up badly.

Abomination was just freaking terrifying! I do love the Evil Manfred boss, Demon King(both phases) and Phantom. Honorable Mention for the Butterfly/Bat Matriarch with the awesome constant quick-shifting between 8-bit and 16-bit music!

I'm having lots of fun with this game, specially with the bosses. I have no idea why people are saying they are too easy or badly designed, for me they are great. Everything I expect from a 2d platform boss

they did a good job with the bosses. imo there are just too many. theres a boss every 30 minutes or so. most of the time i just thought "again?! alright time to learn patterns again for 30 minutes instead of having fun playing the levels". i don't know, theres something that doesn't feel right.

I'm going to go with Yatzee with this one, if you want to play Ninja Gaiden, play that, if you want to play Shovel Knight, play that. That said, since it's at least a decent game I don't have much to complain about, but with Gaiden it was an outstanding game for its time and had both challenge and unique themeing, with Shovel Knight it's a passion project with well thought out mechanics and levels, and beautiful character design and personalities. This one lacks a sense of identity from stepping in the footsteps of these properties, so it stands out less. Thats not to say it isn't good, you can just REALLY tell what it's going for when it comes to theming. Give if a decent shot if you have the cash to spare, and I'll give it a pass on the above since it is at least decent. Quality and Quantity for a game usually wins me over, even if originality is at an all time low.
