Messi has more trophies than Pele. Messi might end his career as the most decorated footballer of all time. Messi will surpass Pele in terms of "goal contribution" but with goals Messi will end up surpassing him. Messi is a genius. Pele and Maradona were exceptional but Messi's game is unparalleled. The guy has been consistent for bout 15years. Even Maradona was a better dribbler than Pele. That's why Maradona was in competiting with Pele for the greatest. Because Pele has more trophies and goals and overall better stats than Maradona. But Messi has combined both. Pele only outwit Messi with most world cup wins. That's just bout it. Yes Pele would have won 7 ballon d'ior but Messi will finish his career with 8. There is no arguments if all odds don't favor you. But you still wanna go with the one to delay what's obvious. By creating diversions. Which is not based on fact but on feelings and emotions. Just because you liked Pele better or Maradona or Cristiano Ronaldo. It don't matter how many we all play a single competition or achievement so you might win 3 or score the most goals or have the most trophies. Or the most ballon d'ior. Messi is recorded in everything there is about the game. He is up there in Goals, Assist, Trophies, World cup, Champions league, Copa America, ballon d'ior everything and he leads in majority of all these singular activities. Just like Ronaldo is there or Pele or Maradona. The only thing is Messi leads. You have 3 world cup. He has one. You have 5 champions league. He has 4. You have Euro and Nations league. He has Copa and La Finalisima. You have most goals. He has most goal contributions. (Meaning adding Goals + Assist Messi surpasses you) etc so there is no argument.
