This was the best Time of the Meteors - fast thuggish, and loud. Just aggressively-paranoid psychopathy

@brian9999 Brian do you reckon - you lot (The Wreckin Crew) if you were one of them were the originators of Moshing/Wrecking dance - I'd never witnessed anything like it before and the only time I'd ever heard of it was at Meteors gigs?

What 84211805 says about the dead crowd - personally i don't care so much for the way they're playing this. Ths studio version of this song is one of my fav psychobilly tunes but here i think they've lost the rockabilly edge to it and it's just thrashing it out really - I think they're overdoing it slightly and it's a bit rough. Perhaps the crowd would liven up if it"swung" a bit more - rockabilly style like the recorded version? Sorry, just being honest.....

@SoldatSolutrea they replaced the sl bass early inthe 80ies. The original version from Meteors was with slap bass. don t know actually the name of the former group member...

Bronislaw - try the album version of this, you'll see what I mean - it's much more what I would call "Punk" Rockabilly. Another example might be "Blast Off" by Stray Cats - although I doubt the "psychobillies" would agree......

@modjniki Yeah, the Lewis/ Fenech partnership really added a special dimension to the music. It's just a pity that Fenech seems unable to work with anybody for longer than 3 weeks!
@bestbass4216 жыл бұрын
CRAP!!! Even Fenech has to do a cover of a Nigel Lewis track! If only Nigel was the one who got to keep The M3t3ors name....
@davebarney45 жыл бұрын
Fenech wrote this song If Nigel had kept the band they would have didsappeared Point in fact, meteors played ace cafe same night zorchmen played somewhere in London Nobody at zorchmen show. Zorchmen played ace cafe 2 weeks later, 1 fifth of crowd meteors pulled

Isn't the song actually called rockability psychosis?
@ibuprofen30316 жыл бұрын
Bronislaw wrote "And what the fuck is psychobilly. A cretinuos mix of punk and rockabilly with neither the guts of the former or the talent of the latter." Sadly I kind of agree - to me "psychobilly" is Rockabilly with a punk edge in other words hard fast rockabilly - I think the psycho's concentrate too much on the "psycho" and not enough on the "billy" to be honest thereby ending up with a bit of a mess.
@bestbass4215 жыл бұрын
Well said mate,couldnt agree with you more!!! Nigels songs were fuckin ACE!!! I Used to follow The M3t3ors with my firm all over London from 1981-83.When Nigel left they went down hill, they kept useing daft recycled lyrics with pathetic kids cartoon imagerary! Meanwhile Nigel formed the brilliant ESCALATORS and later TALL BOYS.If you want to hear propper Psychobilly check out NIGEL LEWIS AND THE ZORCHMEN. The M3t3ors died in 1982,long live NIGEL LEWIS,the TRUE Psychobilly king!!!
