Exactly, why they don’t simplify the play calling is baffling these backups are obviously no where near capable in this offense. Should just stick to dumping it short to get the ball in the playmakers hands

I watched a study/documentary on KZbin a while back, I can't remember the name. And it more or less summed up why Miami is falling apart, before they ever existed in this form. The Tldr is, the Dolphins built their offense to fight an NFL defense that doesn't exist anymore. Back in 2020 and 2021, nfl offenses exploded. Mahomes, Allen and Stafford lit up nfl defenses for absurd amounts of points and yards. And nfl defense took notice. DCs started adopting defenses designed to kneecap those deep air/yac type passing attacks and it worked. The passing game has dropped off considerably since then, to the point where Mel kiper wants 2 high safety banned. And the best NFL teams adapted. The Bills and Chiefs for example stopped the deep attack, and started pushing the run, screens and shallow passes. Mahomes and Josh Allen became Tom Brady like short passers instead of big play QBs. The ultimate example of this was KC letting their deep play WR go in free agency. And he went to Miami. Miami built an offense modeled after those bills, chiefs and rams teams. Speed on display, deep passing and yac. The problem is, defenses have changed since the rams saw success with that. Its an offense that will beat up on bad teams and bad coordinators, but the moment they see a team playing that anti-big play shell, they fold like a house of cards. That's why Miami can't beat good teams. They aren't built to. And they need to evve if they are going to survive.

Michael Lombardi called the Miami Dolphins a "Madden team" (the other one is the Bears) because they are razzle dazzle and run around and make big plays but in their basics they aren't good. Like on the line. He also called their young coach a "DJ" and he didn't mean that as a compliment.

Hate love relationship with the Phins. I don't understand how McD could ever think that Skylar was a suitable replacement for Tua. Or even that the O Line is ok. He needs to let Frabk Smith call the plays and trade for a much better backup QB or start Snoop Huntley. It's ridiculous at this point how bad they looked this Sunday.

Believe it or not The Dolphins are still very fixable. Tua needs to stop being in his head. He played bad his first two games and he needs to learn how to slide. He can recover from the concussion. But he probably won't in a timely manner
@FourOhFore
@FourOhFore Сағат бұрын
bro how do you watch this entire video and come away with the conclusion that they are still "very fixable"? Almost 80% of the video outlined how even outside of Tua, the Dolphins completely screwed themselves in the offseason and aren't in a position to fix their problems anytime soon. Tua learning how to slide is not going to fix their aging roster, the complete lack of a draft class and their need for good trench players..

Fins are cooked. honestly think they need to blow it up. trade the assets they can, recoup value. that has admittedly been Grier's strength, collecting assets. roster management philosophy needs to be changed. Dolphins have had the misfortune of their last two head coaches being excellent coordinators but flawed head coaches. If only we could have had B flo as D coordinator and McDaniel as Offensive coordinator....

I'm stunned they haven't called Bailey Zappe. A noodle-armed QB who can throw with anticipation? A match made in Heaven if ya axe me. Also, didn't Boyle surprise everyone with how efficiently he moved the ball the first 2 drives? I know he didn't finish them well. But hey, _any_ success is better than none. KOC couldn't get any production out of Hall or Mullens. But look what he's done for Darnold. (Or maybe it _was Purdy_ who helped him out get his head straight as he implies).

No one should be surprised. The Dolphins sucked last year. They only beat weak teams and only won one game against a team with a winning record. They got destroyed by the other teams that made it to the playoffs. Tua isn't that great either and cant' stay healthy. I'll be shocked if he doesn't retire. If he doesn't, he's going to be brain dead by the time he's 40. This last hit wasn't even that bad!
