I was one of the few that felt good about the moves this off season and I still feel good about the guys now. I watched all of the spring training games that's how excited I was about the team.

The Yankees improved their team by subtracting rather than adding. Something fans haven't experienced Sanchez & Voit didn't have the defense and struckout alot and hit into numerous double plays. Now the Yankees are bringing in the runners on base and the defense is much improved

Exactly! I used to get down on my knees every night and thank God that we never signed puljos. Now, it's Correa and Freeman etc. I think over all this team has more grit, at least it does now.

My worries… Chapman closing out a big game, always worrying he’ll walk the bases loaded, and the offense returning to their old habit of trying to hit 7 run home runs

They need to take chapman out of that role... he should just be a 1 inning high leverage reliever, not a closer.. hes not the same guy he was 10 years ago

Chapman cole and other pitchers around the league are not the same anymore because now everyone knows they relied too much on the sticky stuff. Now they adjusting to pitch without it. Just my opinion.

@@hugosotousa actually cole had the same velocity and spin rate in his last 2 starts that he had during the sticky era.. so maybe it is possible.. or maybe he is finding a new way to cheat lol

If the Yankees continue to play this way then yes they’re favorite to win it all. I will admit i was worried in the beginning of that bad stretch to start the season. I didnt say this team was gonna be awful cause it was still early lol. However they were playing the same Yankee way as last year and had score fewest runs and offense was at the bottom 3 in the league. But since then they have turned a switch and i must admit its been so impressive and a joy to watch. No more just long ball or bust approach. They’re getting timely hits, stealing bases, generating runs different ways Plus hitting the home run. Their bullpen is always good and this year its exceptional. This is the offense we needed and im looking forward to rest of the season . Oh and being healthy is the biggest key 🤞🏼

I was miserable last year. This year i am having fun. So no, im not miserable. I dont care for the insinuation that we are miserable if we dont win. Nah, we were miserable because they played awful baseball last year and made dumb decisions all year around. IKF, Rizzo, Trevino, and Locastro are good additions this year. Jury is still out if they can sustain this but i am enjoying watching this team.

Never was in panic mode my two main concerns was resigning judge and getting back Rizzo I think it's time to platoon Michael King and Aroldis Chapman in the closer position and have Clay homes setup

Michael Kay finds it ridiculously offensive that there are Yankee fans out there who are not exactly satisfied with the crap we’ve seen the last 5 years. That doesn’t mean we are people who enjoy being miserable. It’s literally the opposite. All we want is for the Yankees to play great baseball and end the season with a WS championship or an AL Pennant. Sorry but the last few years they have been a good, nothing great, ball club. When Yankee fans say that, it’s because that’s how they feel, not because they are miserable people who like to upset Michael Kay.

I'm a Jays fan and speaking as such I have to say that the thing about the Yankees that scares me the most is that bullpen. Bullpens are getting more important every season and New York has such a great group of relievers. It's like a 6 inning game. If you aren't ahead after 6 I like the Yankees chances of beating you with that pen.

This team is a big improvement over last year,last years team that was the worst team fundamentally that i can remember maybe ever. No team is perfect,this one is not,but it’s definitely better . Plus I don’t have to watch Sanchez behind the plate . It was very painful 😖

@@mattwagner4131 I believe in strong defense up the middle Yankees finally got rid of Sanchez who was costing them games. The pitching staff is lighting it up this year that is no coincidence keep Higgy and Trevino if you need more offense bench Gallo but I really would leave things alone right now and let the pitching carry the team that is what wins in the post season

I myself choose to believe in the guys running the show. But with that being said we are going on a decade-and-a-half without a ring so it may be time to make some changes I just think they're not ready to make them yet

Having trouble with good pitching. They offense gets shut down A Lot! Pitching is great. Need to improve offense. Will struggle in playoffs scoring runs.

I think Mike is missing the point here. We don't care about the regular season. They will be in the playoffs however the homeruns will not. We are concerned about the manufacturing of runs when it doesn't go into the seats.

Kay always misses the point and cherry picks the things he likes, the team is better than last year, I absolutely never wanted Correa, Cashman did fine getting IKF and some defensive catchers, but Kay knows good and well that the pitching has been unbelievable, and that's the #1 reason the team is in first place, the batting order still has problems, I can see the Dodgers or Mets pitching shutting down this lineup in a short series, hope I'm wrong

That's a lie, I knew they would re sign rizzo instead of giving up prospects for Olsen. I didn't see the ikf trade working but they made me bite my tongue and I love watching every inning of the game with this team anything can happen

It is the more disgruntled, vocal fans , calling in I believe. Don hit it. Rizzo was the best choice for first base, did not think of IKF but would have been happy with a very good defense first short stop. Donaldson was slow to hit stride first year in Atlanta, he will prove out or not. Pitching injuries are a concern, yet Coney claims the top 20 pitchers in organization are the best , overall, in baseball. Hope team does not need to prove it. Chapman a concern yet closing by committee is a true option.
