The amount of people saying they're in their 40s and feeling young again is beautiful. If any of the are reading this, I'm barely 21 but this kind of music makes me wish I got to experience the 80s like you did. A good chunk of my generation feels the same way too

I only got to enjoy the last part of the 80's. I was born in 84 and not the 70's sadly, but the late 80's and early 90's were really similar, but once 1992 came around, things really started changing. Music, television and movies became really different.

Been listening to The Midnight on a loop for about year. Makes my 44yo heart feel young again. This is my favorite of theirs and I feel 3 key influences in the song: “In the Air Tonight”, “You Belong to the City” (the sax, obviously), and Tangerine Dream’s Risky Business score. Just a great piece of music all-around. Am I the only one that gets the sense that Crystalline might be a serial killer seducing dudes on the train?

I get goosebumps every time I listen to this song. It takes me back to 1982, standing outside on a warm summer night in San Diego, in shorts and a tank, watching the rain as it falls diagonally through the light of the street light on the corner, waiting for my boyfriend to come pick me up. I wish this song had been there with me then, but I'm glad it's here to take me back there now. This whole album is a beautiful ride.

2:26 took me right back into the 80's. I even recovered a lost memory. Thank you! Question: what's the difference between this track and the one NewRetroWave uploaded?
@WippleNut6 жыл бұрын
I know this is a late response, but these uploads are from their personal channel, where NRW is a channel based in putting out tracks from artists (predominantly synthwave), and giving them credit to boost popularity for the song and the artist. Usually most channels like that will either ask the artist, or the artist will ask them, to put the song up and a deal is made over split streaming revenue. there are quite a few sites that post up music without permission, and those usually get into trouble, but channels like NRW (for synthwave), funky panda (for electro-swing), and trap nation (for trap rap, rap, and remixes) will get permission from artists and make a streaming revenue deal in exchange for a bigger exposure range of audiences.

Crystalline: A chase scene on a rainy night plays in my head to this song. The detective is right on the tail of a murderer with a revolver out the window as they slide around on the streets and exchange shots. They get in a wreck where the detective's boxy late 70s car flips but he gets out chasing the guy in foot. Murderer ducks into an alley and that high saxophone note at 4:38 hits right as detective rounds the corner and finds nobody. The detective stands in the dark rain as the camera zooms out in jump cuts from above showing an urban maze of alleys and roads while the song winds down.
