Unofficial video of the song "Last Train" by The Midnight.
1 million views, thank you so much guys !
Movie : River's Edge (1986)
Lyrics :
The top shelf tumbles and the wall clocks run
Well scotch bottles and the soda guns
You missed the last train from the city tonight
Old friends see each other in a different, different light
You missed the last train tonight
The Alphabet City's dive bars drone
And two pilgrims seek a makeshift home
Missed the last train from the city tonight
Old friends see each other in a different, different light
You missed the last train tonight
There is a song singin' in the dark
Don't get too close or it'll tear you apart
There is a reason for every season of the heart
There is a song singin' in the fire
Don't get too close, it cuts like a wire
There is a reason for every season of desire
The subway rumbles under Union Square
And the morning finds an unlikely pair
Hotel lobby, holding hands
Don't blink, don't think, don't look in her eyes
Is this for forever or is this goodbye?
Goodbye
There is a song singin' in the dark
Don't get too close or it'll tear you apart
There is a reason for every season of the heart
There is a song singin' in the fire
Don't get too close, it cuts like a wire
There is a reason for every season of desire
Half in light and half in dark
Is where we start
Half in light and half in dark
Is where we are
Half in light and half in dark
Is where we start
Half in light and half in dark
Is where we are
We are one beating heart x4

Born in 1976, grow up in the 80''s. Great time with friends, school, BMX, Commodore 64, ATARI, 80's movies, 80's music. Watch the sun goes down with my parents and sister in the garden, and than go to bed with a happy smile. We played a lot outside, building treehouses, we had are own world! No internet, no selfies, no likes, no social distance. Just pure and simple. I miss that time, every day i grow older....

This is my fave song by The Midnight. Before the pandemic, I was in college. While we weren't teens and it wasn't the 1980's, life felt so innocent and fun. In a way, it did feel like a 1980's teen movie of people from all different walks of life coming together, finding their identity, and having fun. Even though it's just been one year since I left college, I feel so nostalgic and this song sums up all those feelings I had. The stanza "Old friends see each other in a different, different light" and "Is this forever or is this goodbye?" weigh so heavily on me.

Its called "while you were sleeping" everything was being ripped out from under your feet by your corparations and government its happening here now in the UK but it all took place afew decades ago back in the USA. We stood and watched as the USA and the UK invaded Iraq Afganistan and destroyed Syria and Libya and we did nothing here at home to stop it, so what do you expect is happening to us now. Remember, "if you tolerate this now well then your children will be next".

only The Midnight and Timecop1983 can make me cry like a bitch... they capture the essence of nostalgia so perfectly. we never cherish those times when we're young and pure, unblemished by life... i kinda hoped Keanu will remain young forever, but now he's 56, and age is getting to him too... some people should be literally immortalized, people like Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly, Meg Ryan, Michael J. Fox, Crispin Glover and Keanu... just pure souls.

The coming of age movies, the music, the clothes, and just an overall time of innocence. School was great. Trying to sneak a peak in the teacher's lounge to see who smoked, and finding a way to get to the teacher's grade book. I'd give anything to go back and do it all over again.

Yes, I miss hanging out with friends and not having social media blaring in my face all day, but it's up to YOU to control what you see and hear. Even though I was born in early 90s, the 80s always evoked a sense of nostalgia that nothing could ever quite compare. I often wonder if I'll ever be as happy as I was in the 80's ever again? The best music, the best movies, the best friends, the lack of social media and cell phones and more importantly, the feeling of hope. Now it's back and neck pain, terrible music, recycled movies full of special effects and no character. Like my son often says, "You're lucky you got to live through the 80's, dad."

I’m only 17, but I’d rather be in this kind of era instead of now. Life looks so much happier and better. It’s about to be 2021 in a couple hours and in a few months high school is gonna be over. I never understood what everyone meant when time flew before your eyes but now I truly do understand. Stop or at least try to stop stressing and just enjoy life, stop taking so serious, you only live once and you only have once chance. I hope the new year treats everyone even better than 2020 did!!

You should actually watch the movie featured in this video, "The River's Edge". It's not a fun movie and definitely shows that life wasn't happier and better than it is now. All you have is the now, so make the most of it.

@@redskullz1249 is right. If you *really* want the ‘80s experience, then shut off all of your social media accounts, disconnect your Internet, toss away your mobile, and start enjoying life. And also like he said, this movie... isn’t really a happy-go-lucky coming-of-age John Hughsian film. It’s about a fat guy who kills his girlfriend for... reasons? Then believes that his besties (who were also coincidentally her besties as well) would like to see her dead body. Glover’s character becomes obsessed with helping his fat friend (again, for... reasons?) while Reeves just wants to shag his new girlfriend Skye and listen to metal music. His little brother *really* needs a chill-pill.
