The radio series was the Boosh's best stuff of all. It may seem quite low-key at first listen, but it's non-stop brilliance - SO many memorable / quotable lines, and the fact that they're not constricted by the visual medium makes it a glorious feast for the imagination. It's up there with Monty Python, the Young Ones, Blackadder, Vic 'n' Bob - anything you choose to name.

Personally I thought the TV show did really well with the visual comedy. And with a relatively low budget managed a whole bunch of wacky outfits and effects, seemed more like an expansion rather than a limitation to me.

It's not though. It's just fucking cringe. Too much messing around with characters and a format that clearly didn't find its footing on radio. It's like all the filler from Boosh, with more filler added to make a radio show. The characters barely even bother to be in character, it's just lazy.

@@squatchjosh1131 Quite right, and the fluff and throwaway lines were thrown away, and only the gems remained, and as i hear, were placed in other stories. lots of lines from this show were used elsewhere in the TV show. A couple of episodes in season 2 had scripts that were as good as the best Python, "survival patch scene" comes to mind. This radio show by comparison is pretty loosely scripted, with a lot of pretty weak rubbish, from Rich especially, like the opening scene in this one. Painful, tedious to listen to it's so bad. "are you having sex joey". really Rich? With the telly series, Less resulted in More.
