RIP Tabby. You were the reason why I dived deep into reggae in the early 80's, a journey that changed my musical life. Album called CHANGES. I sang with you in my car, circa 1999 or 2000 in Geneva, Switzerland. Truly reggae's sweetest voice and oh so 'spot on'. You asked me to drive you downtown for a post concert dinner. I asked you if you'd ever considered going solo? Your reply: "the Diamonds are and will always be the trinity". True, one can spot a few Tabby gone solo 7" and 12" , but that's it. Despite you had the voice and charisma to go solo, you stayed loyal to your Mighty Diamond 'brothers' for most of your career. Unbelievable what just happened...RIP

'Time waits for no man', the saying goes and so very true. I have just discovered them and in a few minutes they have gone from young men in their twenties to middle aged or older men. There is one thing that does not change and that is the sound of the voice unless one has or had a cyst, cancer or encountered strain on the voice box. I am listening on my headphones. I was listening to the lead singer, singing Pass The Dutchie, made famous by the UK's Musical Youth youngsters. He was a young man full of energy. This show had finished so I had to refresh it and now I see him as a very mature man. I never could have guessed his age from a distance. And I can still see his personality I saw in that first video. I have to order their music on Amazon, now. The songs are so soothe. Maturity is in the body but youthfulness can remain in the head if your memory remains.
