One of the earliest cartoons I remember seeing. This version of Hercules seems based on comic book superheroes. He looks like Superman and draws strength from lightning like the original Captain Marvel.

Wrong title. Will confirm this one later later but "The Valley Of The Whirlwinds" is one of the episodes TTR doesn't air. If has Newton playing with King Zeus's Thunderbolt disc. Zeus finds him and unintentionally scares him off. He sends Hercules to retrieve him and the disc-but the Mask has also seen these events and goes after the disc - chasing him through the valley of the Whirlwinds. (I have the ep on tape from the YTV days).

Yeah, the first dozen or so episodes had an entirely different voice cast. In these episodes, Daedalus and Newton are voiced by Jack Mercer, aka the original Popeye (and, yes, The Professor on Felix the Cat, which was by the same production company) rather than Jerry Bascome, and Hercules was David Hartman rather than Jimmy Tapp. The odd part is that the ring animation changed when the voice cast did. (The shot of him putting the ring on his finger is from a different angle, and the shadows fall entirely differently on Herc's hand while the lightning is flashing)
