I remember watching this with my dad when it originally aired. I laughed so hard as I do now. An amazing talent for this man to have! Thank you for sharing.

Was in Mike's audience seeing Dr. Hook singing 'Better Love Next Time' a month later. The venue was the WCAU-TV studio on City Line Ave., Philadelphia. Happy memories.

For anyone who doesn’t know (though most people familiar with The Mike Douglas Show would know), Andrea was the original Annie on Broadway, nominated for a Tony Award. This would have been a little over a year and a half after she left the show and was performing with Liberace. When she is talking about London audiences, it is in reference to her leaving the Broadway production of Annie and opening the new West End production in early 1978. She had been a major success in the role and had become pretty famous as a result. Her original “Tomorrow” from the cast album was frequently played on radio stations and she made many talk show appearances in this era and later. The producers wanted to capitalize on her success in the lead by making sure she was the first in the role in front of London audiences as well.

Very cool to find these videos. I had seen your Dad on I think it was That’s Incredible when I was a kid. It’s interesting because I have the same gift as your Dad. For me it might be fun as a gag a chuckle etc. But the downside is when you want to focus on something it can be incredibly distracting to be around other people talking because of the overload of information I’m processing. Anyway glad to see these videos!

Cartoon point at 1:15-1:30 is a really dumb one to make for a guy who is supposed to be a pro: that Road Runner makes kids "violent." Hitting a kiddie punching bag. Hitting your sister or a friend for REAL, is violent. Children have a unique and wonderful ability that people used to understand experientially and via application of COMMON SENSE, that allows kids to laugh at Wiley Coyote having anvil dropped on his head from 500 ft up, while knowing that punching someone is wrong. Children can enjoy make - believe and grasp reality at the same time.
