forget about Springtrap, The Mimic is now the most terrifying robot in the fnaf series as a whole because Springtrap was once human but now a decomposing corpse in a spring locked suit and the Mimic is an AI that can kill anyone by mimicking voices.

Also The mimics code was originally to bring joy and fun to others however due to circumstances it warped and changed, The mimic became sentient and fully aware of good and evil but it chose to kill people.

They finally offed afton for good, his soul is being tortured by the spirit who inhabited golden freddy. The tale of the pizzaplex books which go further into the cannon lore say that the mic was the main antagonist of the whole SB series and was glitchtrap, and burntrap ( who was non cannon) , honestly i thought the aame thing before i started to study it more

The verse about Edwin is based in the book version of the mimic who was revealed before ruin and was a recurring charachter, Edwin made the mimic to watch his kid when he was at work and to play with the kid but the kid got hit by a car and Edwin blamed the mimic for it and in a burst of rage after seeing the mimic copy the kids behaviors he beat it up and left it nearly destroyed then fazbear got a hold offhand taught it to rip up endoskeletons and put them in a pile so it used its combined knowledge of violence from Edwin and endo disassembly from fazbear to dismember the human staff and even used its learned behaviors for doing chores whole killing some of them
