I always believed that by the end of cave story the mimiga are basically extinct since the only confirmed survivors are Santa and Chaco(and maybe jack) and the end credits montage never shows any mimiga continuing life in the island

@@Nerdieo personally I consider the normal ending canon since ballos only really exists because pixel’s friends wanted more of a challenge at the end And considering how poorly ballos was handled in introducing him, the story just flows better without him

I have the headcanon that Arthur wasn't rabid at all but only ate the red flowers as a last resort to fight the doctor and ultimately failed, king felt like if Arthur wasn't strong enough without the red flowers, he could at least become stronger without dying due to them so he cooked them to lessen their effect.

My headcanon is that the mimiga like King, Arthur, and probably other mimiga warriors, took the red flower so they could defend themselves against the androids that were hunting them. And probably later, the doctor. I know Pixel at least confirmed King did this but I want to take it farther... So the mimiga prepared the red flower in such a way that diluted it's potency, like cooking it or making into some kind of potion or tea or whatever. This gives them the desired effects of the flower while minimizing or eliminating the negatives.. This could have became a pre-battle ritual for them. This is also why some mimiga have stashes of red flowers in their homes. Consuming the red flower this way could also take a toll on their bodies, which is why King has (seemingly) permanent pink eyes. Either that or he's still consuming the red flower off-screen during the events of the game. The red flower might have been the only effective way to defend themselves, which is why they were willing to accept the risks of consuming this really dangerous plant. This really shows how desperate things got for them...

I love your videos. I'm glad to see there's a lot more people that love cave story as much as I do. It was my favorite game for years and let me meet my best friend. He's been dead for 3 years now, but cave story is one way I can keep our connection alive.

Even though ive never played the game before ( but ive seen entire playthroughs of it). Ive always assumed that the flowers had to be magical. I mean i dont think the flowers giving someone like a virus or posion of some sort would have mutations happen that fast (without killing the person), or have a person be able to eat them at all. ( explains why igor has magic powers along with toriko) I also think of them that way because of 1. Magic exists in cave story 2. Ballos lore and because the doctor was able to use powers (or greatly enhance them idk how the demon crown works) by making an item with the flowers. The doctor also went crazy after the crystal broke and the flowers raw magic probably went haywire. I think that the flowers before made anybody who ate them strong and then, when ballos became so angry it started effecting the island after he was sealed the flowers basically became enchanted.( correct me if im wrong about that) This is why cooking the flowers or boiling them or whatever just makes you strong. ( allow me to go off course a little with saying the people who sent robots to kill the mimiga probably did it because normal soldiers have to worry about food and stuff ( and there isnt alot to eat in a cave) so they might of actually ate the flowers and then started killing eachother. ) and i guess for some last thoughts... 1. The flowers "curse" may not just be reverted by killing it still involves violence but its more like just knocking them out ( i think sue is alive in the good ending (please im praying) ) 2. Im pretty sure the doctor died because the crystal had too many flowers in it so after weakening him they just desolved his body. ( dont do drugs kids, i get he basically became omipotent and then got exrocised which is cool but still) 3. Toriko probably died after getting beaten because she was too weak afterwards because the flower is probably very exausting so she died from exaustion (damn that hurts more) 4. Doctor probably turned sue into a mimiga (unless this was actually explained and im dumb) because he wanted to expiriment on humans and sue i think is a child and so a bit weak and probably unable to resist the flower, so he turnt her into a mimiga to completely negate sue being able to fight back on her own and make her weak enough to be able to dispose of her if an experiment goes wrong. ( dont know exactly how the flower power gauge works but it would probably turn a child into a killing machine and plus its possible because we dont know how close sue is to an actual mimiga) Thank you for reading

i had cave story on my wii, it was like one of the first games i have ever played i think i was like 4 or 5 when i played cave story, and i always wondered what were mimigas and i thought they were rabbit goats lol for this chirstmas, i was gonna get cave story + bc i really wanted to play cave story again! i dont think i finished the game but all i remembered was being terrified of balrog
