the band is not well known for being the first Christian Rock band because there was no money in it for the record companies when we recorded it. People but in recent years it is becoming more well known. no one knew of or bought Christian rock at the time, till a few years later. Asphalt Mother was recorded before we started Christian Rock.

This was a homemade, self-released single. They were then signed by RCA, who didn't have a clue as to what to do with them. It appears that RCA wanted to pitch them as the "new Doors", with lead singer Larry McClurg as a Jim Morrison type. RCA finagled an invitation to Woodstock, but the band said "no". They did two albums for RCA, the broke up.
@brucegordon72485 жыл бұрын
@@MrErdner Oh, so the band didn't want to play at Woodstock. I think that was a mistake because it would have given them more notoriety and might have launched a successful career. I didn't know RCA signed them. I see you wrote this reply a year ago, so sorry for the slow response.

I got my Asphalt Mother, down in the dirty lot She wants to see the outside, I like to keep her haute I burn her haute out daily, and hang it up to dry I stick a problem in her face, burn out her charming eyes Ooh!
