The Minecraft INDEV HELL Challenge is devastating

The Challenge of Surviving in Minecraft's Oldest Version. Oh but its is also HELL! This Minecraft Challenge is like no other! In this video I begin a new Hardcore challenge in the INDEV VERSION of Minecraft! I hope you all enjoy the Minecraft INDEV Hell Challenge and attempt it yourself! If not that's okay too!

To begin, you must generate a new world with these settings.
TYPE: ISLAND
SHAPE: SQUARE
SIZE: ANY (This rule was changed)
THEME: HELL
Survive as long as possible and follow the rules listed below!
If you die the challenge ENDS!
RULES
1. DO NOT DIE! Or you FAIL! REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS!
2. Do not destroy the starter house! You cannot use the starter house blocks. Leave the wood, stone, and torches where they are.
If they are destroyed or removed for ANY REASON. The Challenge ends. (Protect it from mobs!)
3. When you begin the challenge, the sun will be up. You may not break dirt blocks until the NEXT DAY. When the sun rises on the second day,
Then you may dig away the dirt blocks. Stone Ores Food and other things are okay to gather from the beginning.
4. You may not block the entryway to the starter house! You are not hiding in a hole here. This is hell. There is no escape!
No blocking yourself in a tiny spot! Become an overlord and build a defiant fortress in Hell's domain!
5. GREED IS GOOD! You may only place torches on gold ore. No Placing TORCHES on Anything, accept on a gold ore block! (Unless you complete the gold beacon)
6. A FREAKIN BEACON! If you build the beacon, then you may place torches anywhere in your world! First 3 layers solid gold.
One of layer iron and a diamond block to represent the actual beacon (This rule was changed)
7. No using cheats! You may obtain blocks via NBTExplorer if you can afford the trades in the zombie Pig Man Shop!
Viewer request - I will use No Armor! It is far too hot in hell to wear armor and doing so will result in death and the end of the run.

Digging a massive pit in the city for taller buildings sounds like it would be super tedious in a word with no enchantments. Also, weird question Bandclamp, but do you have access to world backups in that version of Minecraft? I remember you saying a few episodes back that you had to be super careful with higher elevation lava, but you had still decided to keep some of it this episode.

I'd obviously want you to build a TV, but I'm not sure how you'd fit it into a normal building, so new idea: what if you have one of the buildings in the crater be a movie theater and have it be up against one of the walls of the crater, and then you'd be able to dig inside of the wall and that'd be the movie.

Love the builds and your creativity. It’s so cool to watch the city slowly unfold over time. I was thinking about the white building with the glass you put dark grey wool over. Maybe you can accent the windows with a different colour wool below the glass block: White wool Glass Glass Grey wool Or possibly using slabs above the top window block to add a layer of depth to the window that draws your eye. Anyway, great to see progress. Can’t wait for more vids!
