Considering how minecraft mobs work, this is extremely likely. Either that, or they went the extra mile and you take them down like the one Tom Cruise's character takes down in the movie; Get captured, get taken into its little cage thing, then drop the grenade into the "feeding tube" or whatever it is that was grabbing people from the cages into the tripods proper

it is on the legs. I've fought them using "Vics Point Blank" using javelin missile launchers. The part of the body they lock onto is around the legs. The only thing which really damages them is explosives so, any mod which adds rocket launchers is a VERY hard counter to them. Lock-on weapons are basically a guaranteed win.

This is honestly really cool and I LOVE War of the worlds. My only gripe with this mod is the tripods are too easy to kill. I think the mod should work in phases similar to the mycelium mod. They invade, and are impossible to kill (or really difficult to) They destroy everything and their beams can also destroy blocks. Eventually spewing black smoke and especially the red weed to try and terraform the overworld. Then in very final phase of the invasion is when they are weak and their shields fail, making it easier to kill until eventually they are all gone. Likewise the final stage of the red weed is also dead weed. Blocks and plants of this type turn grey. Then maybe there's a grace period and the invasion starts again.

One thing I think would really make the tripods feel more like they were made to destroy the world is that snow would appear on their bodies whenever it snows, and that they could destroy the landscapes and EMP your redstone

The uberpod is better for combat as it's got a bigger shield on its top. It also makes a deeper horn sound. and you might see body stuff later, they harvest human blood and animals. Just some fun facts. 😮

How come no one has mentioned the birds 💀 Tripods should be either vulnerable or invulnerable at differing intervals, with vulnerability indicated if birds are circling around their head (in the movie, this was a sign the shields are disabled) This mod doesn’t look super high effort, but a high detail version of the mod would see viruses being a way to kill the tripod (in the movie, the invasion is hampered as the pilots get ill from Earth’s microbes, in turn the Tripods losing their shields as the crew either die or become too sick to operate the vessels)

It's a really cool mod, but just, one problem I have with it. As someone who read the books, the tripods have only 1 heat ray, and an arm for grabbing people. So the mod is only based on the movie, which is where the 2 heat rays comes from. Just a small detail

You should make a world with your friends and make it to where they spawn in a fallout shelter and *have* to live there, but there is a twist in which they can find a secret exit to find out what's going on in the real world! You should also say that you're going to stay in creative since you will still be working on the bunker! It would be so fun, you should make a video about it! Hey mate, ik alot of wotw, so u cant kill the tripod machine is because they have a invisible sheild I have some facts of the aliens 1.They horn are meant to be communicate other tripods 2.they have a tripod varient, 1 its warrior tripod that have laser beam , 2 its Harvester tripod that will farm human and spraying humans blood, they put humans in a cage, and they grab human by a tentacle, 3 its Uberpod, its a larger and more stronger tripod, their appears in military battles with the tripods 3.They can be killed by earth species, bacteria, because their body (Alien) can't hold bacteria, its a disease that will kill alien 4. They only lives in earth only 3 days, it was because of bacterial creatures that kills them PLEASE PIN THIS!

Check out the gigeresque mod. It is an invasion mod, but you have to find them first in dungeons underground though because they dont spawn naturally. It is based on 1979 "Alien"
