FYI: This design isn't perfect... It's prone to friendly misfire due to the location of the cannon... If you've built it and flown it, then you've probably found out! In that case, I hope you've done your own modifications to fix it! If not, you can check out the NEW and improved design on the Dual-mode Mini Gunship, which has its turret on the BOTTOM side. Problem solved! If you want me to do a build guide, just let me know. It doesn't take long to create a video. 😊 All the best and happy building!

**Welcome to the Mini Gunship Build Guide & Explanation!** Many people have expressed interest in a how-to-build video for this fun little flyer, so here it is. I'd specifically like to thank u/Yoshi_spielt, u/dragonflygirl1961, u/OldSkool1978, and u/Lunamax_432 for requesting it directly. Also, thank you to all who commented and asked questions. I'm grateful for your interest! Enjoy. 😊 **ASSEMBLY:** It is important to note that in this build *EVERY* piece is joined together at snap points - each Zonai device has its own set of snap points which let you neatly join devices together on an invisible grid. Why this is important, especially concerning flyers, is because it will allow you to build them with perfect* symmetry, ensuring that your flyer does not permanently drift to either the left or right. Having drift will constantly force you to correct during steering, which is annoying and less than optimal. Since the design is so tight, I've assembled the parts in this particular order because otherwise it can be tricky (or impossible) to place them where they should be. It's good practice to look over your build during the process to make sure things are lined up properly. Evenly. Symmetrically! Once you finally get the whole thing together, a good way to see if anything is slightly askew is upon takeoff. If it drifts, something is probably slightly misaligned. Check it again and make the necessary adjustment. One last note: the construct head's left/right movement will cause a very slight sway, so don't be alarmed. I realize that this has been a bit long-winded, but my goal is to teach you the fine details of building a solid, successful and FUN flyer. Good luck - you've got this! **THOUGHTS / DESIGN PROCESS:** Whats the difference between a flyer like the Hoverbike and a "gunship"? A Hoverbike is made to travel from point A to B. Sure, you can toss some cannons on it, but how many times are you going to have to circle back around just to get a shot off? A gunship, as you can see, needs to be slow and stable, yet agile, so that you can stalk your targets...not zoom past them. So how is this accomplished? By adding weight. Weight determines whether you're going to blast off into orbit or hang out down here on Hyrule. With the gunship, just enough weight is added to let the flyer gain altitude as slowly as possible, which results in a hovering effect. This is also the source of its amazing handling ability. Because of the incredibly slow gain of altitude, you can easily go forwards, backwards and side to side almost as if you had a stabilizer attached. Except in this case, moving around naturally regulates your altitude, keeping you from ascending out of range of targets. **PILOTING:** You'll notice that upon takeoff, the Mini Gunship will fly backwards! 😃 This is supposed to happen. When you take off, you'll want to push forward on the steering stick and then hold it in place once you've leveled off. You will need to get past the learning curve, so take some time to get used to flying it. It's pretty friendly, as you can see, and practice makes perfect! **F.A.Q.:** *Why did you use the small wheel?* I wanted to build a small vehicle, so I chose small parts. The small wheel has 6 snap points to build off of, making it very useful. Yes it's a wheel BUT, when you look at it as a building block, it becomes much more useful. It's heavy relative to fans' power, so it was a good choice for gunship application. I like how it looks - it gives extra animation to the gunship, and even responds to how you're steering. And, last but not least, it makes an additional noise which, to me, makes the vehicle seem more interesting than just a bunch of whirring fans. *Whats up with all these steering sticks??* So, again, the primary purpose of the steering sticks is to ADD WEIGHT. Generally speaking they add to the overall weight of the gunship BUT their locations serve to distribute that weight in order to achieve the desired balance. They have been used to fine tune whether the front or the rear is heavier, and by how much. Even the angle of the steering sticks has an impact on this balance! Micro adjustment! Secondly, they serve as "landing gear" for the gunship. Ever tried landing on straight fans? It's like jumping on a trampoline. Not ideal! And, thirdly... They look cool! 😃 **Thank you for reading this very TL;DR post, and thank you for loving the Mini Gunship!** All the best, z

I saw your response earlier on a separate video, you are WAY too kind omg, so now i won't be so shy on your channel, i LOVE your mini designs! Unbelievable how you get everything so balanced, I've never seen anything like it! I would be very interested in how you would incorporate "phantom clipping" with fans into any of your builds - extra fans for extra power but still compact sized! (just in case you need the reminder what it is ill link king x's video below...it's not too trendy anymore, perhaps forgotten about, but was popular 7 months ago and still works for all versions!) I still have 4 fans clipped for a flyer but idk how to balance it and you seem to have a knack for unique flyers~ kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6O2hmZsnZxlq9ksi=JE1QlD2FXhHyvWJW please dont take this as a demand or even deem in necessary to explore - just a passing thought! i look forward to anything you put up on here and reddit!

@Chulzy91 Hey Chulzy! Happy to have you here! No reason to be shy, this here's a par-tay. 😃 Thank you very much. 🙏 I really have fun building these micro machines. 😁 Getting them balanced is just a matter of switching things around, doing a quick fly around to see the effect of the adjustment, then going, "Okay.. A little more on the front." Or "Needs slightly less lift..." I'd be interested in seeing it too, hehehe.. Maybe it's easier than I think, but to be honest, at this moment I'm getting so much satisfaction working within my cozy little niche that I don't feel the need to venture outside of it... Yet? I'll have a look at it and think about what I might make with it. And you know, I like the particular challenge of trying to squeeze some unexpected performance out of normal shit. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It's a pleasure to have you here - thank you for your thoughtful and detailed comment. It is certainly appreciated. 🙏 Any other ideas for things to build, I'd be interested.. I have a couple of ideas that I haven't explored yet because I'm trying finish this Dual-mode Mini Gunship build and not squander all these parts!
