It's ironic that he says "I don't believe in that New Age nonsense" when you guys bring up starseeds, because what he's saying is precisely New Age/New Thought spirituality, and he's so unaware. A bit tangential, but an important presupposition he holds. Around 24:00 he quoted Jeremiah about the scribes. In Jewish tradition, scribes aren't just writers and copiers, like "accountants". They are more like monks/ascetics, who use transcription as a form of asceticism and meditation. Their position is considered one of the highest positions in the Jewish community and they are highly respected. Their practice of transcription is seen as giving them holiness. Before they copy extensive world, they have to spend months just transcribing the Shema. Nothing else. So his claim that "the scribes interpret" as if that is a defeater, like their interpretation is automatically wrong and man made is fallacious. That isn't to say they are always right, but just to assume they are wrong because they are scribes is divorcing their position from history and Jewish tradition altogether.

It comes from awful starting points and presuppositions that get carried away for years upon years without anybody ever challenging them along the way, so they think they've studied more than anybody else whenever they talk to anybody else because they can shotgun off all this disconnected stuff that in their mind is connected, but to anybody who's more studied and grounded, they are baffled because the thoughts are so incomplete. I believe with these people there is a potential "Domino" that can be attacked that if you get it to fall, they can actually pause and be corrected and begin to question the path they've gone down. I've been good friends with people like this and it takes months or even years of carefully listening and trying to find that first "Domino" that'll cause the others to fall. Sometimes you can never find it and they'll just cope about everything.

God speaks to us through our spirit, other people, even the bible. While I'm not orthodox, I listen to and abide in God's word new testament and old, prayer and through these podcasts.
