It is fitting that this is one star. A singular star that has live lonely forever, always thinking about what life could be if there were more stars with it, but alas, they know that life is not meant to be, their only company is absolute loneliness, and it will always be there to comfort the star. For that reason, i rate this book with a one star rating. Not to express my dislike for it (quite the opposite in fact) but to express my true opinions on our sociological mechanics, we are surrounded by people but, despite that, why do i still feel alone?
@murlocmaster6192 Жыл бұрын
cuz we dont care about eachother and are highly selfish despite the massive benefits to not be. However humanity has never been very logical....
@chaotixxs Жыл бұрын
But to that I raise you a better symbol. Five lone individual stars. The five stars while near one another never touch forever isolated but with a view of others all around them that they can never connect with. Worse than being a lone lonely star, being a lone lonely star in a crowd. Even you, yourself say that we are surrounded by people, yet are alone. That is why five stars is superior, even with existentialism.
@DarkOmegaMK2 Жыл бұрын
@@chaotixxs There is merit in your proposition, however you must admit that being around people gives a certain comfort, an inherit certainty that comes with tangible company to a degree, deciding (or being able/unable) to engage with this crowd is irrelevant. The five stars might not communicate or interact at all, but at least there is some comfort knowing they are not alone in their suffering. On the other hand, being the lonely star opens up many possibilities to the imagination: "Am i the only being left in the world?", "Why must i be the only one that suffers?" to name a few.
@chaotixxs Жыл бұрын
@@DarkOmegaMK2 ahh, but since the stars do not interact they do not know the others are the same. They're still isolated, but if only they could look around they would have that comfort that they're not alone, but they can't. There are others like them around, but there's no comfort because there's no way of knowing. If they knew, sure there's comfort in other's being in the same situation, but the problem with isolation is that there's no way to know that others are the same. From an outside perspective we can see that, but it cannot be seen from within and that makes it worse because we know how much closer to better it is, so close but not solved

One the main problems is that the LGBTQ community should be out in full force trying to stop the force feeding of sex education to minors. A few minutes later I saw this video posted and watched it, KZbin kept the 25% play speed so this video was slowed down. I legitimately did not notice anything was off until like 2 minutes later, and checked how much time was left... Only like 30 seconds had passed. The fact that this person has supposedly been a fan for two decades and is just now realizing that Jason Steele has featured a number of non-binary characters in their work is as hilarious as it is telling… wait til they find out that Jason themself is agender as well. I’m sure that’ll get them going. Also, I just want to use this opportunity to say that seeing someone who I consider an icon of the internet be so openly supportive of queer people is really comforting. I’ve seen so many people I admired, especially comedy-oriented creators, turning against our community, so to have someone whose work I enjoy and appreciate so much be unapologetically supportive means a lot. I started watching Charlie the Unicorn when I was a young kid, YEARS before I realized I was non-binary, and Nyx being a casually non-binary major character was a very pleasant surprise. Thank you for doing what you do :) (…Also, if they really “purchased everything ever that has been released”, you’d think they’d also be well-aware that FilmCow is absolutely no stranger to existential topics. Seems to me like they’re just looking for a reason to be upset, lol.)

@@peterstangl8295 Yep, they said so in a comment on the Charlie the Unicorn Grand Finale Q&A on r/FilmCowOfficial. I probably can’t link it to you directly due to KZbin’s filtering system, but if you go to the Q&A and scroll through the comments for a bit you’ll find it. The Q&A itself is pretty easy to find through Google. Also, Jason’s partner, Grey Scuffy, is non-binary, and xe’s also the one who did the illustrations for this book!

@conan6939 A bit surprising that you even watch this channel, then, if that’s the attitude you have. Filmcow is a great example on how to write nonconforming characters. Just imply it in passing, and don't bring attention to it or make it the character's sole personality trait. Nobody, whether real or fictional, should ever be defined - nor define themselves - solely by their sexuality or gender.
