YES!!! That was it, thank you! I just couldn't place it. I kept thinking Gauntlet, Altered Beast, Blackthorne, even sometimes Jill of the Jungle, but I knew there was a much better fit. I didn't play as much Golden Axe, so it's not as firmly in my brain :-D

@@CynicPlacebo My first thought was Rastan, as that is also a platformer Sword and Sorcery game, the other was Myth from the c64, as that game was renamed Conan on the Nintendo (and maybe on Amiga too).

@@laszloeszik5033 I'm not actually familiar with those, but if they are in this genre, I may have to check 'em out 😀 I had pretty limited gaming opportunities in the 80s and early 90s, as we were pretty poor, but any time I had a chance to play I was all over it, so I still love going back and playing classic games 🙂

I feel like you had a pretty fair assessment. I don't think this is one that I could ever see playing by myself, but it could make for something light to do as a co-op experience.

Yeah, this feels a little like Bro Force to me in that regard. It's a really good game, but the joy comes in co-op.

You had me at the style of old games like gauntlet. It's so funny most of my guy friends play as a lady. lol I do cause girls rock and well I'm a girl. lol It's good her defense is so high. Good ole pixel art. Can't tell whats the head or ass LOL. This boss is crazy. Good hob on it. I enjoyed watching this while I ate my very late should be lunch breakfast. Good share buddy

I know, right?!? I loved all the Gauntlet games. I still can't put my finger on what game this feels more like... maybe Blackthorne a little... but that's not it. I wish my memory was better. I often play as a lady because I like looking at ladies, haha. I think it started when I played KOTOR for the first time, and realized I'd be looking at my character's butt all the time in 3rd person mode, so I might as well enjoy XD The pixel art is really fantastic on this one, and the music too. I know there is no way to convey it in video, but the controls are just soo crisp and feel right. It really can make or break a game like this, and this one *nailed* it!

The music on the opening level sounds familiar, I think it's Castlevania music or very similar.

It definitely has a similar vibe. @kirkenstiensmonster6522 said it sounded a lot like "Actraiser" and when I looked up some gameplay footage I agreed. Actraiser's music definitely has some Castlevania influence though.

@CynicPlacebo I listen to that soundtrack every once in a while. It was my first videogame, so I get super nostalgic when I hear it. They recently released a remaster of the game, and it's pretty good.

@@CynicPlacebo i have problems, they need a downward thrust as u jump to take care of enemies under you, i never felt more of a need of it in such a game, severely missing, same as upward thrust, needs a better impact on enemies also, it is good as it is, but feels lacking. also, the end of the demo made me furious, they teased us badly, i tip my hat to them, i wanted more, so yeah, wishlisted, but THEY NEED A DOWNWARD THRUST.

@@EpicLebaneseNerd haha, it would be good. They do make the enemies move though, so you can time hopping down to dispatch them, but yeah, it would feel a lot more powerful with a downward thrust. Which character did you play as?

I think the demo is, but the game is releasing for Steam, Switch, PS4, PS5, & Xbox Series X
