My thoughts with the Rex are she wasn't trying to eat the hunters, she was trying to scare them off their territory. Lions do the same thing with hyenas. They'll even pick one hyena and brutally wound them to the point they're dead or barely alive as an example to other hyenas. Dr. Robert Burke was the example for the hunters in the waterfall scene.

Well, the female T-Rex not keeping up with the humans could be explained in that the terrain is not as flat and wide open as what Rexy was on when chasing after Muldoon's Jeep. The female Rex is walking on rocky, muddy, narrow, uneven ground that those large feet would have trouble walking on. As for Carter ending up on the ground, well, he could've tripped on a rock or branch or been accidentally knocked down by one of the other hunters.
@alexielshadowangel2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. If a theropod, especially a BIG one like a rex, misstepped just a bit and injured their foot, it'd be a death sentence! (it's what got Big Al the allosaurus, a foot injury led to a fatal infection and no doubt the tremendous pain would make it difficult to hunt) So Mrs. Rex is more likely walking briskly, rather than going full speed. Also a rex's stride from a SINGLE step is like...what 10-15 steps for a human? She doesn't NEED to go full speed to catch a human.Also its easier for much smaller humans who tend to be more nimble on their feet to run through such terrain, although they can trip up too. In the shot where we see Carter on the ground, just before SQUISH, you can even see a large curved branch on the ground that SCREAMS tripping hazard. So honestly I think Carter just tripped, nothing deeper about it.

Or purposely pushed after all the old adage for the situation like that is I don't have to be faster than the bear I just have to be faster than the person next to me but someon3 could have taken this further and said well predators don't eat when hungry and I don't want to die so I'll just push this person down while running for my life
@EScoglio2 жыл бұрын
That's why I didn't mind the Rex in Jurassic World not catching Claire. When you really look at it, the Rex isn't running, it's walking and it's in a tight, confined area. I also don't think it was as long a distance as the movie implies. It may have been 100 feet or less.
@sparrowscratch2 жыл бұрын
I think the reason the Doe didn’t catch up with the humans was mostly from a “Predators and Zebras “ type situation. Zebras tend to run in groups because there’s safety in numbers, and them being in a huge group of similar looking animals has sort of an affect that makes them look like one huge animal so that it’s hard for predators to single out an individual, I think that’s why the Doe didn’t catch up with the humans because it wasn’t sure where to bite. Of course I could be wrong, but that’s just my theory.

When it comes to the T-Rex chasing the hunters, the reason why it looked like it was having trouble catching up with them may have actually been because it was trying to single out a lone victim to grab. The hunters were clustered together in a group, and considering that predators try to single out a prey item that's not with the group, it's not too farfetched when you think about. Not only that, but the male T-Rex attacking the "unlucky bastard" that split off from the humans during the San Diego incident is further evidence to back this idea up.

I think I would know the reason why the doe Rex wasn’t running nearly as fast after the hunters. Like what Shinobi once mentioned in his response to Doug’s horrible review of the movie, the doe was chasing the hunters down a very narrow path way full of turns, obstacles and curves down the path which is problematic by the Tyrannosaur couldn’t build up enough momentum to run faster. While in the first movie the Tyrannosaurus was running after a jeep because the area was much wider and straight which is why it could run at full speed.

@ryanfreebody68812 жыл бұрын
The way I see it is that they were never hunting in the fist place. They were being inquisitive and investigating going on the smell of blood from the clothing. They don't actually realise there are threat all around them. They are actually caught of guard with the entire camp erupting with life, think of an ants nest you're looking at then seeing dozens of ants come running out of the entrance. It will catch you by surprise if you didn't realise that it was an ants nest you were looking at. I think what has been overlooked too with some comments here, is the fact why is the Doe there in the first place? The blood of its baby, I don't think it was actively hunting but trying to look out for its baby while pushing the threats away taking some out as it went along. Another thing is the fact they never fully confirm the blood on the clothing is just clothing, it could be their baby potentially dead so I see it as them driving them out and away from what they would instinctively believe to be their severely wounded/dead baby. It's funny comparing it to the first movie both are acting in the same manner, investigating things and being caught of guard with life swinging into action only it's a light instead of sound in the first film. Which is pretty cool both to do with primary senses. I have come to an interesting conclusion that makes both scenes differ. Rexy never perceived the humans as threats, these T Rex in the films were highly intelligent as shown with both being able to sneak up on people. The 2 T Rex would be hesitant naturally knowing that this new strange thing they are seeing is capable of harming their kind and drawing blood, I doubt I'd go in full charge with something so unknown and already proven to cause harm. Take a look from their point of view, everything they are seeing is new.. the camp blends in with the environment, its completely alien to them, they are highly intelligent I'm sure they certainly freaked out thinking they have been ambushed by a predator they know so little about.

Not bad I also chalked up the Rex seeing too many fresh prey at once and becoming distracted while chasing the hunters. I've seen this many times with fish and reptiles for what ever reason they won't lock in on a specific prey if they watch for movement and as we know T-Rex hunt by movement compared to the Raptors which hunt by many ways. Which is also why I think the Raptors tore throw the hunters in minutes, the Raptors eached locked on their own target took it down and movied to the next.

I do believe this scene was filmed and most likely was meant to be used after filming concluded. As in the first two shots of the hunters in front running, they are the same people, whilst when they turn and run over Carter, several of them have disappeared including the Vet (So these are the bunch that climbed the cliff). Granted this could very well just be a continuity error, but considering this deleted scene has that pic of that hunter jumping (Which is a picture I find very interesting and can't find myself). It's safe to say this scene was in the final cut before the CG T-rex was put in, and cut during the editing process

So, he's like Mitch and Tiff from Camp Cretaceous? Then what about him helping Sarah, Ian and Nick up after the trailer went over the cliff, AND checked if there was anyone else, AND didn't want Kelly to know about Dieter who went missing?

Love seeing the clips from the chaos Island video game. That game was my childhood , have you ever covered that game in your videos?

At this point, I'd like them to just reveal an official well-documented catalogue of all the deleted scenes XD Maybe we'll get some more after Dominion in a six-film collection, or something like that ^^

When people say the T. Rex wants to eat, it all depends on the metabolism rate. If T. Rex's are like giant shrews that have to eat their body mass in N days, then Rex's would be constantly hungry. On the other hand, if they are like giant largely cold-blooded or avian blooded reptiles, which I think is more plausible (think of those old-fashioned Charles R. Knight lithographs), then T. Rex's are like giant sloths, lumbering, you could probably outrun them, and nothing close to 50 kph. Actually as a scavenger I can see T. Rex dinos as slow, lethargic and hardly moving. Explains those tiny arms too, you don't need them if you are not catching prey.

I personally don't understand scene cutting. Movies like LOTR/Hobbit, Batman, Watchmen, etch show that people are more than happy to sit through longer films. Especially when it comes to JPark, the more dino scenes, the better.

Looking back I thought someone (probably Nick) intentionally tripped Carter to try and get the doe tyrannosaur to slow down since it would want to eat him

I always thought (watching as a kid) that the reason the rex couldn't catch up was because in JP1 its an open trail meant for cars while in JP2 its natural and full of roots, rocks, and divets in the ground all making it less straightforward for the rex to navigate. Just kid-me's opinion.

The lost world is good, but it would be even better if the scene is included especially with more badass rex kills

It would have been very interesting to have seen that kill scene with the rexes.

I would honestly love to see a directors cut of the film. It’s the 25th anniversary this year after all.

Hey Klayton. Perhaps for more content, could you do gameplay videos much like your take on Jurassic Park - The Game (by Telltale)? Apart from that, plus Chaos Island and another game you played, being Jurassic Park Rampage Edition, I have never played any other JP/JW game at all ever before. It would be interesting to see your take on it.

Like many other lost scenes, it’s a tragic cut piece of the films that definitely should have been left in. One other defense of the people running from the Rex, perhaps it couldn’t get up to speed due to directions the path was going? The Rex chasing the jeep in the first film took a moment to get up to speed. Just another thought

They had really good ideas in the scripts and Comic Version of the Lost World. Its sad that not every scene comes to life in the Film. It had made the Film a real good thrilling adventure movie that had it all in a clash between humans and dinosaurs . And it would have been unmatchable so far. Otherwise the Film had been 3 hours long so they had cut scenes.

I had no idea that there was an additional kill scene planned for The Lost World, but I'm torn on whether I'd have liked it in there or not. On one hand, I think the scene with the Rex attack on the camp is arguably the scariest in the entire Jurassic series and is a prime example of what makes the second movie the darkest in the franchise, and further showing more of the terrifying and brutal power of the rexes when attacking a group of panicking hunters could have upped the tension and horror. On the other hand, leaving the horrifying kills off-camera as the rexes pursue the hunters can let the imagination take over so I don't know if actually showing something could top that. I think if the kills were dark and gory in the same way as the others in the film, even if it's only implied and not shown directly, I would have been super down to have some extra kills in the scene.

I never really had an issue with carter falling down, as to me it always made sense that in a tight group of people running with little to no co-ordination their first response is "holy crap I need to run just focus on not dying" so when they're stumbling over themselves it was only a matter of time until someone ate it and tripped. As for the running slower than rexy everyone else explained it pretty well

Well I think since the first movie its been highly debated on if the Rex COULD even run because of the hollow bones inside its legs. I think the most important scene they should have left was how the people died on the boat. IF it was raptors where did they go?

2:23 Even as a kid (around 8 or 9 years old) I thought this part was stupid. "But... in JP the T-Rex hunted down a car!" I'm convinced this movie alone led me down the path that turned me into a grumpy, cynical old man before I was 20 :(

I just figured that the T'rex wasn't running it's fastest because there was so many potential targets as in view. For example cats eat mice but even though they are faster, stronger & bigger than mice when there is a plague of mice all running around the cat, maybe 20+ mice or more, the cats even though there are so many to chose from don't know which to go for so they kind of don't really go for any or make half-hearted attempts at going for some, being that they are overwhelmed with the amount of potential opportunities. I just figured the T'rex was doing the same thing being that there was so many humans running around & the T'rex was spoiled for potential options it was a little overwhelmed & was only half-heartedly chasing people down & therefore not actually going it's "clocked" full speed.
