@@sqnhunter Many reasons. 1. China is a patriarchal society and thanks to the one child policy, there are more men than women. 2. Filial Piety is a basic tenant of Chinese society. Respect and obedience towards your seniors and people in power. Failure to do so is a social crime. It's my understanding, that being viewed as un-filial can affect your career prospects and how society treats you. In the home, women are expected to maintain harmonious relationships at all cost to themselves. It's a matter of pride. 3. China is a communist country and works hard to prevent it's citizens from being influenced by Western ideals. For example: Most people in China live behind a firewall. The majority only have access to Chinese controlled social media, media and entertainment. As such, Western ideals of female inpowerment, fidelity and consent are not often heard. Also, they are apparently unaware of how they are viewed by other cultures. So why should they feel shame when they have no idea that theyight have something to be ashamed of? Yes, these points are a problem by Western standards but it doesn't stop us from watching their shows does it? Why is it OK for us to enjoy unrealistic dramas made in the US, UK etc but we condemn the Chinese for watching their equivalent? Have you seen some of the toxic stuff in US soaps or Telenovellas? What about the dramas from other Asian cultures (toxic beauty standards, loving a murderer or rapist, non consent etc) The only significant differences are that non other dramas tend to aim for love wherever you can find it where as the Chinese ones aim for harmony within a family and duty before love.

@@fibienn250 You obviously think us Chinese are a lower species. I myself don't watch western dramas by choice. The women are not pretty enough! Then there is your ideal that the west was smart enough to wake up to women's plight while Chinese minds cant advance far enough to do that. Totally wrong. The women are aware of their ability to interact as well as any other society throughout the world. They just cant enact that human rights...and it all goes back to what I said. Isn't it great when a boss backs you up? Hell, ask him for the name of a great divorce attorney that will work with you on their pricing. Get what you can and leave the Mistress nothing but a worthless man and a in true definition a ba$rard for a child. Willfully having a child with a married man gives you no legal or moral rights. The law will not side with you for any compensation other than child support. Public caning for cheaters on both sides should be enacted.

He couldn't help but hear since first he's the president of the company and may have been notified, but two the cheater took the woman into the conference room and was talking so loudly until everyone could hear, and finally it involved his company because he had a contract with this man and this woman, who came with the man but was somehow ended up as the president's assistant, was arguing, badgering, intimidating this girl right on his premises. And what he heard was this man forcing this woman to be homeless because he got the mistress pregnant. A lot of companies wouldn't tolerate him at all because it shows poor character, poor judgment, bad morals. He would've literally lost his job and his reputation would be ruined so bad that he couldn't get a good paying job in the industry. So I know karma is coming....

For me it is wrong, but after listening he mixed his personal love with company problems. I always think a man can only intrude on personal problems in drama and maybe in real life after they divorce. The right thing after hearing their conversation for me is to help her if she stays homeless for example. Before that he has no right, on Bible, we have that: you shall not covet your neighbor's wife. It is what he was doing.

@@rangel3l1 I need to see more clips first but what I saw was the man badgering the woman in the conference room and she was angry and crying. The cheater started belittling her and throwing keys at her. I think at one point the president tapped on the door and told them to keep it down because they were getting loud and he had to listen to determine what kind of meeting they were having since it was one on one and he hadn't authorized any disciplinary actions. But since he is the senior director he had every right to listen. It was wrong for the cheater to use that business conference room for such a very personal chat. I know of situations that ended up so ugly at the workplace that someone got injured and cops had to be called. And yet another where the man literally killed the woman. I think the president and her is did tell them to take it somewhere else but the cheater refused because he said he didn't want to see her anymore. The cheater was wrong....he wasn't even an employee there so he had no right to host that type of meeting at that man's workplace.

From his face, it was clear he already liked her, so the right thing to do in my opinion is to keep a distance until the divorce is done, after that, he can help her with whatever he wants.

@@rangel3l1 I agree with you. He clearly is interested in her and probably was happy for this great opportunity forming right before his eyes. I saw a few clips where he helped her get a place, then personally one on one helped her move in, unpack, and even clean and scrub while she slept. Nobody is doing that unless they have a vested interest. As a president of the company he could've offered to hire people to do that but he was already treating her like a girlfriend. The only thing missing was the kiss and sex.
