which was the Chacewater to Newquay branch line and was closed in Feb 1963~

In 1963 Dr. Beeching closed half the railways in England. When I lived in the UK I lived not far from the Rugby-Peterborough-Harwich line...closed and gone for ever with lots of men unemployed.

Yes, this was one of the first to go, glad they left a few reminders, and the Newquay to Perranporth line gettin reopened as a bike trail, like the Camel trail, keep smilin😊

What are the chances of finding a video on this! Many thanks to the Rambling Gypsy for posting this. I believe that nearby was the famous ‘Folk cottage’ (a half derelict farmhouse which was used to stage folk music events and included acts such as Wizz Jones, Jacqui McShee, Ralph McTell and Clive palmer and the audience would come from as far away as Sweden and Denmark) however this halt would been closed by then.

hya, glad u liked it, yes the old folk cottage was just near Mitchell, just up the road, the building is still there but now a private residence, Ralph still lives down this way, at London Apprentice, nr St Austell, keep smilin🍃🌾🌀😀🌻☮️🌳 Peace ☯️
